I can feel you pulling away

With every heartbreak becoming harder for me to reach

No matter how much I run towards you, you're always farther away

I cry as I watch emotion after emotion leave

You've become cold to love's touch

You don't seem to know it any more

Somehow my love is never enough

To mend how your heart's been torn

Your walls are too high to climb

You knock me away at every attempt

Maybe one day I'll learn to fly

But I'll just have to keep restarting until then

I pray so hard for you every night

I pray for a man instead of a boy

I pray for someone to love you right

And I pray that you see that love is not a toy

I know that's what these boys have taught you

But I pray that your heart will soften

That you will seek wisdom and truth

I pray that you face it instead of running away from the problem

I will pray for you all of my life, that your eyes might be opened

But until then I will do my best to love you, and never stop hoping

Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
