WARNING: Your trip to Chicago may include scenic city views, an abundance of good eats, and so many exciting adventures to choose from. With every inch of the city you explore, you will be sure to find perfect spots for artsy, edgy, colorful, and chic pictures that are worthy of the 'gram. As a Chicago native, I have compiled must-see locations to capture your nostalgic, classy, and carefree personality in the Windy City.

1. Hampton Social

After ordering some fresh lobster rolls and a refreshing Angry Orchard Rosé, you'll only remember that you're in the Windy City when you look out and see the Chicago River instead of the Atlantic Ocean. Just make sure you don't leave before posing for a picture in front of the Instagram famous "Rosé All Day" backdrop at this unique East Coast inspired restaurant in the heart of Chicago.

2. Drumbar

Trying to capture your true boujee-ness for your Instagram followers this summer? Treat yourself and splurge a little by going to one of Chicago's many rooftop bars. With $5 draft beers and $8 glasses of wine during Happy Hour, you don't have to break the bank too badly at Drumbar but can still enjoy a unique view of the city unlike any other spot downtown.

3. Superdawg

Enjoy a classic Chicago-style hot dog and make sure you take a picture with the larger-than-life Maurie and Flaurie—the mascots named after the original creators of this Northside iconic drive-in restaurants.

4. Stan's Donuts

If you like donuts even remotely, this is a MUST. There are multiple locations which makes it easy to find depending on where in the city you are. So, buy yourself a donut the size of your head, avoid the temptation to stuff your face right away, and pose for your artsy picture.

5. Sugar Factory

Stop and pose on their red carpet like all the celebs do, or order one of their delicious and sugary drinks. Extra points if your outfit matches your drink!

6. Dylan's Candy Bar

You better wear some bright and fun colors for this picture, so you'll fit right in with the technicolor theme this store has going on.

7. Chicago Riverwalk

Make your way down to the Chicago Riverwalk and take a casual stroll up and down until you find that picture-perfect spot you've been looking for. This location offers a unique picture-taking spot with the flowing river and historic bridges marking the busy streets above.

8. Lake Michigan beaches

You can pose straight on with your back to the lake and the sun in the sky and leave all your Insta friends wondering if you took a trip to Florida this weekend, or you can incorporate the breathtaking Chicago skyline in the background.

9. The Lurie Garden

An often-overlooked spot but a great and FREE location to pose amongst blooming flowers and greenery.

10. Lakefront Trails

Rent a bike found on various street corners, bring your roller blades, or just walk down this scenic Lakefront Trail and capture how much fun you're having by being outdoorsy for the day.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
