The definition of bittersweet.

As the summer comes to an end, some of us are packing for our dorms and others are packing to go abroad for the semester. Our emotions are going crazy, and we have no idea if we should be more excited or just nervous. There are so many things one could possibly miss while being away for the semester, but just to name a few, here's a list.

1. Homecoming
Nothing beats this beautiful fall day at the beginning of the semester. Everyone is finally settled into the school year and now able to enjoy the weather, being back with friends and of course a (Merrimack!) football.

2. My dorm

I'm sure I will love my living experience abroad, but I am jealous that everyone else gets to move in soon.

3. The Merrimack College Community
There is absolutely no place like the MC campus. Everyone says hi to each other and definitely holds the door for each other (even if it's for an awkward amount of time). I'll miss seeing familiar faces on my way to class every day, but come the spring, I'll be even more excited to be there!

4. Campus Activities

Being abroad means no Merrimack clubs or intramural sports this semester. Feeling left out of all these activities will be tough, but I can't wait to be back in the spring and be even more involved than ever!

5. My Friends and Family
The most obvious that someone going abroad will miss is their family and friends. Four months is a long time! Most of us have never gone that long being away from people we love!

While being abroad, I hope that I'll further understand exactly how lucky I am to go to a great college with amazing people! To an amazing semester abroad and even better remaining college experience! Sláinte!

Bruce Springsteen's Top 7 Lyrics

Everything Bruce says in his classic rock songs.

Anyone who was born and raised in New Jersey (or anywhere really) knows of Bruce Springsteen, whether or not they like him is a whole other situation. I hope that his hundreds of classic rock songs and famous high energy performances, even in his sixties he can put on better concerts than people half his age, are at least recognizable to people of all ages. Love him or hate him (I identify with the former) you have to admit that some of his songs and interviews have inspirational quotes and lyrics.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

Marconi Beach

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.

Yes, the math major is doing a math-related post. What are the odds? I'll have to calculate it later. Many people have probably learned about the Fibonacci sequence in their high school math classes. However, I thought I would just refresh everyone's memories and show how math can be beautiful and apply to physical things everywhere around us with stunning examples.
