18 Most Memorable Bruce Springsteen Lyrics
North Country Public Radio

There are three very important components to my relationship with my father; dinners at Outback, trips to Home Depot, and a deep-rooted appreciation for Bruce Springsteen. When I feel lost, stressed, or even homesick, it's nothing a quick listen to "Jungleland" can't fix. Nothing like the boss man to bring you back to your roots.

Here are 18 of Bruce Springsteen's most memorable lyrics to help get your week off to a good start, some chicken soup for the soul if you will.

1."We learned more from a three-minute record, baby than we ever learned in school." — "No Surrender"

2."Hey there mister bouncer, now all I wanna do is dance, but I swear I left my wallet back home in my workin' pants.""All That Heaven Will Allow"

3."A notion deep inside, that it ain't no sin to be glad you're alive." — "Badlands"

4."Barefoot girl sitting on the hood of a Dodge, drinking warm beer in the soft summer rain.""Jungleland"

5."Tramps like us, baby we were born to run." — "Born To Run"

6." God have mercy on the man who doubts what he's sure of.""Brilliant Disguise"

7."You ain't a beauty but, hey, you're alright." — "Thunder Road"

8."Poor man wanna be rich. Rich man wanna be king, and a king ain't satisfied, 'til he rules everything. I wanna go out tonight. I wanna find out what I got.""Badlands"

9. "Is a dream a lie if it don't come true or is it something worse?" "The River"

10. "And though this world is filled with the grace and beauty of God's hand, oh I wish I were blind when I see you with your man.""I Wish I Were Blind"

11. "But I got debts that no honest man can pay." "Atlantic City"

12. "Jesus, send some sweet women to save all your clowns." "Wild Billy's Circus Story"

13."Well, it ought to be easy ought to be simple enough, yeah man meets woman and they fall in love. But the house is haunted and the ride gets rough, and you've got to learn to live with what you can't rise above.""Tunnel of Love"

14. "Everything dies baby that's a fact. But maybe everything that dies someday comes back." "Atlantic City"

15. "Walk tall, or baby, or don't walk at all." New York City Serenade

16. "Somehow all you ever needs' never really quite enough." —Reno

17. "Mama always told me not to look into the sights of the sun. Oh, but mama, that's where the fun is." — "Blinded by the light"

18.“Someday we’ll look back on this and it will all seem funny.” — “Rosalita”

I love you, Dad. Thank you for also being the man.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
