15 Things You Know To Be True When You're A Cat Mom

Those who aren't cat people will never understand our obsession with our kitties. Until you have a pet of your own, you won't know the feeling of having someone greet you at the door, endless cuddles, and a packed camera-roll of your fur-baby. 10/10 recommend having a pet, they'll change your life.

1. Plants? Nope. Chargers on the floor? Absolutely not. Blinds? Forget it.

Everyone talks about the chore of child-proofing a home. Let let me tell ya, it's just as difficult to KITTY-PROOF a home, even if it's a one-bedroom apartment.

2. Fur has become an accessory you've added to your daily wardrobe.

After a few months of having a cat, you give up trying to lint-roll and pick off each individual piece of fur.. rock that kitty fluff sister.

3. So... what is this camera roll storage you speak of?

Napping kitty? Captured

Playing kitty? Captured

Eating kitty? Got it

Walking kitty? Yup

Breathing kitty? OH yes

4. "Yeah.. if you don't like cats, our friendship has expired, sorry!!"

Cats > Humans, enough said.

5. Alllllllll the toys.

TREAT YO KITTY. Your favorite go-to snack at the grocery store can wait, that cat toy is a must.

6. Just kidding, to them, the best toys are free.

Bobby pins... bottle caps... empty cups... Q-tips...everything that isn't theirs.

7. Your cat is your therapist.. 24/7

Homework, boys, latest drama, stress, excitement, everything under the sun, you chat about with your kitty-child. She knows exactly what you're saying!!!

8. People actually have to use an alarm clock?

Top of the morning, you have beautiful sounding meows coming into your ears. Those meows translate to "Mom, wake up. I've torn up the house all night and need recharged, feed me.. now."

9. You've accepted that you're going to be a crazy cat lady for the rest of your life

Husband and children... maybe. 100 cats.. oh yes.

10. "Sorry I can't go out tonight, my cat actually wants to spend time with me".

These times are few and far between, everything gets cancelled on these days. Am I right or....

11. Nothing in happening at 4a.m. in your home except for.. olympic stair racing

Up. Down. Up again. Roll down... again. Half way up... stumble back down. On your belly... on your back... on your head... one paw up in the air... it never ends, until the sun comes up and it's time to go to sleep since your human is at school.

12. ...Would I be judged if I walked my cat on a leash on campus?

This question crosses our mind at least once a week... the answer is do it.

13. Purrs are your absolute favorite sound

You would bend over backward and drop anything in the world in order to make your cat purr. No better sound than your cat saying "I love you too, mom."

14. If you could have a t-shirt with your cat's mugshot on it, you would.

Cups, socks, shirts, car decals, bedding, picture frames, etc... anything with a cat on it? You need it.

15. You wouldn't be the same without them

No matter how many times they knock down your favorite plant, wake you up in the middle of the night, and lay on your computer when you are trying to be productive for once... you couldn't imagine life without your fur-baby.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer. And if you haven't already guessed, it's beer. There are few things I take more seriously than my beer, in order are: sports... and beer. Here are my favorite summer brews:

Bruce Springsteen's Top 7 Lyrics

Everything Bruce says in his classic rock songs.

20148
bruce springsteen album cover born in the usa

Anyone who was born and raised in New Jersey (or anywhere really) knows of Bruce Springsteen, whether or not they like him is a whole other situation. I hope that his hundreds of classic rock songs and famous high energy performances, even in his sixties he can put on better concerts than people half his age, are at least recognizable to people of all ages. Love him or hate him (I identify with the former) you have to admit that some of his songs and interviews have inspirational quotes and lyrics.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

4497
Marconi Beach

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.

You cannot beat the beach. Believe it or not (which many people may not), New England has a long and beautiful coastline. Most of my high school summers were spent sitting on the Wall at Hampton Beach, getting sunburnt and eating Acai bowls from The Secret Spot. The Wall was the place to be both during the day and at night. We begin our days there with a KB's bagel and coffee, and end them with pizza and ice cream. It’s not a New England summer without that 4 p.m. text from someone, “Who wants to meet at the Wall tonight?” Nighttime is for Tripoli’s Pizza, the sound of waves, and wishes on shooting stars. Wednesday nights are especially important, as those are the nights that Hampton Beach sets off the weekly firework display.
