Recently I began watching The CW/WB's hit tv show "Gilmore Girls" on Netflix. If there is one thing that you should know about the main characters Rory and Lorelei Gilmore is that they not only love coffee, but they survive off of it. For these young women, coffee is not only a drink but a way of life. Typically, I consume approximately one or less cups of coffee a day. Although I am not a coffee addict per say, I drink it because I enjoy the taste and sometimes need a little pick me up. Despite the fact that I am not the biggest coffee drinker in the world, I have many close family members and friends who cannot function without their daily dose of coffee.

1. You are not fully awake until you have had your first cup.

You know in reality that you need more than one cup to really feel the acts of the caffeine.

2. You substitute the recommended 8 cups of water a day with 8 cups of coffee per day.

3. Your mug collection is impressively large

Even though you love them all greatly, you definitely have your go-to favorite mug.

4. You shake if you drink too much and you have a headache if you don't drink enough of it.

5. You drink coffee so fast people often wonder how you do it.

6. You often lose count of how many cups of coffee you have had that day.

As a result, you always tell people that you have only had three cups.

7. If you have to choose between going to class late with coffee or going without coffee you choose to go to class late.

Every. Single. Time.

8. You have built up such a tolerance to caffeine that you can drink regular coffee at any tie of the day without any side effects.

9. After a while, you have become an actual walking pot of coffee.

10. Your coffee habit drains your bank account.

11. People always ask you if you like coffee and you respond with:

12. The way to your heart is coffee.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer. Bruce Springsteen's Top 7 Lyrics

Everything Bruce says in his classic rock songs.

bruce springsteen album cover born in the usa

Anyone who was born and raised in New Jersey (or anywhere really) knows of Bruce Springsteen, whether or not they like him is a whole other situation. I hope that his hundreds of classic rock songs and famous high energy performances, even in his sixties he can put on better concerts than people half his age, are at least recognizable to people of all ages. Love him or hate him (I identify with the former) you have to admit that some of his songs and interviews have inspirational quotes and lyrics.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

Marconi Beach

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.

You cannot beat the beach. Believe it or not (which many people may not), New England has a long and beautiful coastline. Most of my high school summers were spent sitting on the Wall at Hampton Beach, getting sunburnt and eating Acai bowls from The Secret Spot. The Wall was the place to be both during the day and at night. We begin our days there with a KB's bagel and coffee, and end them with pizza and ice cream. It’s not a New England summer without that 4 p.m. text from someone, “Who wants to meet at the Wall tonight?” Nighttime is for Tripoli’s Pizza, the sound of waves, and wishes on shooting stars. Wednesday nights are especially important, as those are the nights that Hampton Beach sets off the weekly firework display.
