We all went through a rebellious phase where we listened to music that wasn't necessarily "popular."

Some of us never got out of the phase though, and we stuck around long enough to see the pop punk genre get bigger and saw the messages they sent get stronger. Sometimes you need something more than a catchy pop melody to get you through the week.

Here are 10 pop-punk anthems to pick you up when life gets in the way.

1. Waterparks- Royal

The song is off the band’s self-titled LP and reminds us that while we may wish we were royal, but alas we’re not. It is a song that’s relatable, and the best part is you can dance to it too.

2. Sleeping With Sirens- Cheers

This song off of Sleeping With Sirens’ upcoming album Gossip is an anthem that builds people up, so when you’re feeling down because you failed a test or lost a bet, “Cheers” should be your go-to song.

3. State Champs- Critical

Sometimes we tend to take things too seriously, so this song is here to remind us not to let life get too serious. It’s not that critical.

4. With Confidence- Voldemort

Besides the amazing Harry Potter reference, With Confidence took the chance to let us know that everything will be okay, despite how bad things may seem in the moment.

5. All Time Low- Good Times

College is about making memories, so what better song to commemorate that than this song off All Time Low’s most recent album, Last Young Renegade?

6. PVRIS-Separate

This one is a little bit depressing, but everyone can relate to the heart and the mind not agreeing on something.

7. Neck Deep- In Bloom

This song is one of my absolute favorite Neck Deep songs. It reminds us that if we don’t stick things out despite people trying to ruin it for us, we’ll never see it all in bloom.

8. Sleep On It- Let Me Go

We all have someone, whether it be a family member, ex, or old friend, who continues to hurt us. This song relates to that- and it may even make you feel a little better in the process.

9. As It Is- Okay

We all have at least one moment where we don’t feel okay. This song is all about that feeling, and it’s a jam too.

10. Set It Off- Life Afraid

This song is upbeat and happy, and it reminds us to do things that scare us. There’s no point in living life afraid.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
