When You Think Hope is Lost...

The world we are living in right now is a pretty tough place. You log onto Facebook and post after post tells the same story over again. Sometimes it doesn't feel like much can be done, so here are a few ways to raise your voice and let yourself be heard.

1. Sign a Petition

There are so many causes and petitions out there that are overlooked a way to easily. If you search for a cause you care about, there will most likely be a petition to sign. Every little bit helps and when you sign your name, you are making yourself heard.

2. Donate

No matter the amount of money you donate to a cause near and dear to you, you will be helping them find a cure, help supply more people with needs, or stop a group of people from doing something unethical

3. Volunteer

Volunteering is good for your soul, spending a day at a food kitchen, cleaning cages at an animal shelter, Cleaning up a beach, or spending time in another state and seeing how different things are from your norm. Helping others who so desperately need it will not only make you feel good but seeing a smile and how much other people appreciate your help and you being there is a great feeling.

4. Participate in a walk, run, or march, or protest

Signing up for anything to get your outside and making a stand is one of the most powerful things we can do. Getting out there and seeing all of these people care so deeply about something that you care about will show you that you aren't alone, or that you are the only one to care about such a great cause. Being in that atmostpshere will make you see that hope is surly alive and well.

And if you haven't already guessed, it's beer. There are few things I take more seriously than my beer, in order are: sports... and beer. Here are my favorite summer brews:

Bruce Springsteen's Top 7 Lyrics

Everything Bruce says in his classic rock songs.

20211
bruce springsteen album cover born in the usa

Anyone who was born and raised in New Jersey (or anywhere really) knows of Bruce Springsteen, whether or not they like him is a whole other situation. I hope that his hundreds of classic rock songs and famous high energy performances, even in his sixties he can put on better concerts than people half his age, are at least recognizable to people of all ages. Love him or hate him (I identify with the former) you have to admit that some of his songs and interviews have inspirational quotes and lyrics.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

5046
Marconi Beach

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.

You cannot beat the beach. Believe it or not (which many people may not), New England has a long and beautiful coastline. Most of my high school summers were spent sitting on the Wall at Hampton Beach, getting sunburnt and eating Acai bowls from The Secret Spot. The Wall was the place to be both during the day and at night. We begin our days there with a KB's bagel and coffee, and end them with pizza and ice cream. It’s not a New England summer without that 4 p.m. text from someone, “Who wants to meet at the Wall tonight?” Nighttime is for Tripoli’s Pizza, the sound of waves, and wishes on shooting stars. Wednesday nights are especially important, as those are the nights that Hampton Beach sets off the weekly firework display.
