Because really, we deserve to feel good about ourselves.

The Ultimate Girl Power Playlist

Women are some of, if not the, most powerful creatures on the planet. We are ambitious, beautiful, and unique human beings capable of much more than we often give ourselves credit for. Look at it this way – we’re literally the reason that life exists and continues to do so.

However, it’s not uncommon to forget how incredible we truly are. Challenges, setbacks and our own personal insecurities tear at us each and every day. While it is easy to let these things squander our positivity, we must remember our self-worth not only on an individual level, but as an entire community of fierce women.

Whenever you’re having a (rare) day when you feel less than fabulous, listen to these songs to pick you back up.

12. Do My Thang - Miley Cyrus

Most inspirational line: “Don’t worry ‘bout me, I got it all arranged … I’ma be okay"

11. Dear Future Husband - Meghan Trainor

Most inspirational line: “You got that 9 to 5, but baby, so do I, so don’t thinking I’ll be home and making apple pies”

That's right, you tell him!

10. Mine - Phoebe Ryan

Most inspirational line: “I’m holding on to all the pieces of my heart’s debris, ‘til it’s time, I’ll put it together and fix myself eventually"

9. Hide Away - Daya

Most inspirational line: “I’d rather find a boy who is down for the chase, putting in the time that it takes"

PREACH.

8. Circus - Britney Spears

Most inspirational line: “I'm like a ring leader, I call the shots. I'm like a fire cracker, I make it hot”

7. Shake It Off - Taylor Swift

Most inspirational line: “It's like I got this music in my mind saying, "It's gonna be alright"

6. Here - Alessia Cara

Most inspirational line: “I don't dance, don't ask, I don't need a boyfriend”

Point blank.

5. Ain't Got Far To Go - Jess Glynne

Most inspirational line: “I told you I would prove you wrong and now, I'm here and I'm standing strong”

4. Flawless - Beyonce

Basically, the entire song but...

Most inspirational line: “You woke up, flawless"

3. Ladies - Andy Grammar

I know this one's by a guy, but Andy seriously hits the nail on the head. Boys, take notes.

Most inspirational line: “Ladies, you are beautiful, you don't even have to try. You are beautiful, you are beautiful, more than you could realize”

2. Independent Women - Destiny's Child

Most inspirational line: “Tell me how you feel about this, try to control me, boy, you get dismissed”

Classic.

1. Love Myself - Hailee Steinfeld

The #1 song to get you feeling exactly how you should - powerful and proud to be who you are!

Most inspirational line: “I’m gonna put my body first and love me so hard ‘til it hurts”

No more feeling how we shouldn't - these songs remind us that we, as women, are more beautiful and more strong than we believe. In the words of our main gal Hailee, "Gonna love myself, any time day or night".

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Sister | Brother Style - Word Press

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
