The Rest Is Still Unwritten, Stop Stressing And Just Live
I don't think we give enough attention to Natasha Bedingfield's wise words in her famous song "Unwritten." Lately, I can't help but notice how much truth the song holds to not only my life but everyone else's, too.
We all have dreams, goals, and aspirations. There are things we envision our lives to be like. Since we were younger we were always asked who we wanted to be when we were older. Some said doctors, some said lawyers, others wanted to be famous, but some didn't know at all.
As time went on that same question still kept being asked. Some still wanted to be doctors and lawyers while others wanted to be famous. But some people changed. Some aspiring doctors wanted to be lawyers and some aspiring lawyers just wanted to be famous. All in the same there was never a right answer. Every response is always different and unique to the individual.
I always knew I wanted to be in the entertainment industry. I can't sing so hoping to go on tour would never happen, but every time I was asked what I wanted to be when I was older it was never about an aspiring title or occupation. Instead, it was about being happy despite if the vision I had yesterday changed tomorrow. The truth is...we can dream, have goals and aspire to do things or become better people in our jobs. But like Natasha Bedingfield said...the rest is still unwritten.
It's okay to not know exactly what you want and it's okay for your wants to change. In the end, everything we can hope for may turn out so much better than what we aspired for.
It's true no one else can feel it for YOU. So if you don't want to do something, don't. We get too caught up in having a perfect dream to live by. Too caught up in achieving the plans we set out for ourselves at an age where the world felt so small. As my world gets bigger, I like knowing that the rest is still unwritten and because no one knows exactly what the future holds I get to feel it for myself. It's okay to break tradition or have tries outsides the lines.
The rest is still unwritten and each day you have the chance to write something new, something bold and something so close you can almost taste it. Let your plans change, add to your dreams, aspire to be more and let life write itself as it goes on. Today is where your book begins. Write what you want to be written.
