Quit 'Expecting' 2019 Will Be Your Year And Instead Make It Happen
It's all on you.
It's officially that time of the year when we are constantly hearing the words, "new year, new me." Many individuals have different New Year's resolutions such as saving more money, losing weight, and one that I mostly hear is, being happier, with a hope that everything will go smoothly during the new year. That is, no heartbreaks, no letting people get to you, getting rid of bad friends, and making all of their resolutions come true.
Here's the reality of all those things mentioned above: it's up to you to make the new year your b*tch. I see so many people all excited during the beginning of the year and then one little thing happens and they lose their focus and motivation in what they had planned.
Nobody will lose your weight for you, nobody will get rid of your trash friends for you, nobody will do anything that it is up to you. I see so many people with broken expectations simply because they did not put their effort into making the new year theirs.
If you happen to stumble upon some difficulty when you are planning your resolutions and goals, simply write it out. If you can spend time wondering where the new year went so wrong, you can spend some time mapping it out.
That's another mistake that people often do, and I won't lie, I have fallen into the same trap. We need to understand that life isn't perfect. As long as we put the work in and our own efforts, we can make a difference. Sometimes things take a turn and sometimes things don't turn out the way we want them to. Life happens. But the important thing is that we try and later on we can have zero regrets.
Another thing, if things don't turn out the way you don't want them to, that doesn't mean your year is automatically ruined. That's where you need to learn from your mistakes and from life itself. Every setback is meant to make you a better and wiser individual.
Don't blame the year for being terrible, instead, learn from your mistakes and put your best efforts to bring your dreams and resolutions come true.
We all fall sometimes, but let's not fall into the trap of believing it's the year's fault for our troubles when we can rise above the difficulties.
We can make the new year our b*tch.
