5 Point Cafe came into my life on a staycation in the city with my best friend. If you're looking for a good late night spot, with mystery shots, a+ tier diner food and such an incredible staff, you'll find that right here. The cafe does get quite crowded, especially in the evening and on game days, but if you're okay with the wait, crowded is when the place is the most fun!

Pike Place Bar & Grill has quickly become my go to spot in the city. With prime real estate, the best staff and unbeatable views of the market, I come here almost everytime i venture downtown. The food is probably the best you'll find on this list, ranging from incredible seafood, to classic favorites like burgers and pasta, you can't go wrong.
What you'll order: Jell-O shots, Mimosa bucket, or anything off the cocktail menu, and to eat, Crab Cakes Benedict.

Ivar’s Acres of Clams

If you've ever been to downtown Seattle, chances are you've walked past the Ivar's located on the waterfront. Ivar's walk up window is a Seattle staple, truly a pillar of the community, with some killer clam chowder! Now, there is a very fancy sit down restaurant that you can opt-in for, but come on, the walk up window to go and then going to sit by the ocean outside is the way to go.
What you'll order: Clam Chowder, duh!

I don't really have much to say about Victrola, besides that it's easily the best coffee you'll find in the city. I tend to frequent the capitol hill location, as that's definetley the superior one. If you're the type to work while at a coffee shop, this is the perfect location.

I know a lot of people are trying to eat at least semi- plant based! El Borracho is perfect for that, or just for someone who really loves Mexican food, because all though dairy and meat aren't present, all of those flavors are on display! In my humble opinion, El Borracho has the best Mexican food in the city, and it's not even close.

Now, I know I just raved about Ivar's clam chowder, and I do believe it's a+ tier, but Pike Place Chowder may inch them out. The clam chowder here is the creamiest, best seasoned chowder I have ever had. This place is constantly packed, super small and barely has any seating, inside or outside. So if you're venturing into Post Alley to eat here, plan to take your food elsewhere!

Dick's is THE Seattle staple! Is it one am and a concert just got out and you're starving? Go to Dick's! My personal favorite location rests in Queen Anne, making it the perfect post Climate Pledge arena show meal. The food is cheap, and one of my favorite greasy guilty pleasures!

Zeke’s has easily become my favorite hangout spot in the city. From top-notch pizza that breaks the mold of what a traditional pizza is, to the best IPAs in town, Zeke’s is where you want to be. 1. Riding solo.
Having the car to yourself can be an empowering sense of freedom. The radio is yours to tune-in to or to turn off. The directions are yours to choose. To have this control is also just as overwhelming with all these other drivers nearby. First-time drivers know the burning ears they get when their parent is not there to tell them how to react behind the wheel. After a while, driving becomes your source of confidence, the car a sanctuary where you can put your mind on cruise control.
2. Passenger payload.
Backstreet drivers wish they could show you how much better they handle a car. What they are not considering is the amount of responsibility and patience it takes to drive. Control makes or breaks a car ride. For the passenger, it can be relaxing to hang back and be chauffeured wherever you want. For the driver, the company can keep you motivated enough to make a long drive a good time. If you're carpool's overflowing, don't rock the boat.
3. Traffic far and wide.
At one time or another, cars line up for a path to their destination but are met by traffic. The only thing more mysterious than endless traffic is the moment it dissipates for no reason. In the morning, everyone seems to have left the house at the same time. People have the right idea to get lunch before or after rush hour, but unlike the weather, there is no predicting the roads. Best to get comfortable and park that car of yours, this might be a while.
4. Open road.
Having the road to yourself, even for ten minutes, feels like a victory lap. You passed the reckless drivers, the radio-heads causing earthquakes with their speakers, and the road-hogging ilk. Now you can have a nice, smooth cruise on your way down the street. Take in the scenery before it passes you by. No hurry, no delays, nothing but you and your current drive.
5. Got gas?
Unless you have a car that runs on electricity, you and your ride will be taking a pit-stop to fill up on gasoline. Gas prices are outlandish and change faster than you can notice. Getting a full tank can be costly when you know you should not buy that extra Milky Way chocolate bar for "just in case" too. Why cannot cars be driven with our feet like The Flintstones? Probably because we like to connect to the past only to use it up like a fossil fuel and wait until it is too late where there is nothing left but the inevitable... Happy trails!
Driving can be an office on wheels, a mobile prison, or a rolling rock that gathers all the moss it can. If you go for a drive, make it a good one.
