5 Bible Verses For When You Are Afraid
God is greater than our ups and downs.
We all face scary times in our lives; times when we are afraid of the future or of what's going to happen next. But, just like Daniel in the lion's den or Jonah in the whale, we know that if we just have faith, He will keep us afloat.
1. “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is my stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” -Psalm 27:1
2. “I hereby command you: Be strong and courageous; do not be frightened or dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” -Joshua 1:9
3. “Surely my God is my salvation; I will rust, and will not be afraid, for the LORD God is my strength and my might; he has become my salvation.” -Isaiah 12:2
These first three verses remind us that God is always with us, and we do not have o be afraid of anyone or anything! God is our light, our salvation, and stronghold; He will protect us and deliver us.
4. “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases, his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. ‘The LORD is my portion,’ says my soul, ‘therefore I will hope in him.’ The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul that seeks him.” -Lamentations 3:22-25
When you feel like crying during difficult times, cry out to God. He will always listen and He will always forgive when we need to be forgiven. He will help because God loves us and cares for us.
5. “Then King Darius wrote… ‘For he is the living God, Enduring forever. His kingdom shall never be destroyed, and his dominion has no end. He delivers and rescues, he works signs and wonders in Heaven and on earth; for he has saved Daniel from the power of the lions.” -Daniel 6: 26b-27
The king may not have been able to save Daniel from the lions, but God was! Because Daniel was so faithful to God (even though he knew he could get into trouble), God sent an angel to shut the mouth of the lion.
If we remember that, then we can be sure that, figuratively speaking, God could save us from all the "lions" we may encounter in our lives and help us in our time of need.
He will always take care of you, just like He took care of all the people in the Bible.
So, whenever you have a fearful thought, just remember that God is always with you and taking care of you.
