Dear Steelers, Don't Blow It!
The Steelers are now sitting at 7-5-1 with three games left in the season, and it's going to take a few solid performances out there to earn a playoff spot.
Dear Steelers,
I never want to see my team on a losing skid, but this might really be the worst time for it. Before this three-game losing skid, you guys were in such a good spot with an AFC North title and first-round bye just in reach, but a few turnovers here and missed kicks there and now we are battling for a playoff spot. The Steelers are now sitting at 7-5-1 with three games left in the season, and it's going to take a few solid performances out there to earn a playoff spot.
For now, all we can control are the games we still have to play. That includes the Patriots, Bengals, and Saints respectively. According to FiveThirtyEight, right now the Steelers have a 62% chance of making the playoffs. If we beat Tom Brady and his Patriots this weekend, those odds increase to 85% but if we can't pull off a win, our chances drop to 38%.
Not only are the Steelers trying to end their three-game losing skid but also losing streak to the Patriots that sits at five games and dates back to 2013. James Conner could be an important factor in this game for the Steelers. He did practice Friday of this week but is listed as questionable for the game on Sunday. Conner suffered an ankle injury and didn't play in the loss against the Raiders. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger also suffered an injury to the ribs in the Raiders game, but he will be playing Sunday. Look for young star JuJu Smith-Schuster to play well for the Steelers as he seems to be a hot target for Big Ben. And Antonio Brown isn't a receiver to forget about. The Patriots lack of pass rush and the Steelers solid protection might be a good combination for the Steelers receivers to play well this weekend. Overall, I don't think Steelers fans care who plays well, just as long as that someone isn't Tom Brady.
I, along with many other Pittsburgh fans, will be tuned in as the season continues and we fight for our playoff chances. Here we go!!
Sincerely,
A loyal Pittsburgh fan
