A Letter To My Very Good Dog Back Home
A dog can be one's greatest friend and biggest treasure in your life. Here's my letter to mine.
Dear Paco,
To start off, I'm about to tell you something you probably already know, and everyone gets tired of hearing, you are the best damn Chihuahua to exist in the world and I love you to death.
You are my spirit animal and I mean that more than the meaning behind the way people say it.
You get grumpy like me. Everyone in the house gets you angry and then when you get mad, they get offended.
But you are also as lovable as pets can get. You like the scratches behind your ear and when people give you love.
You have watched me cry and smile. From crying about my uncle leaving to celebrating all of my college acceptances with you. (By the way, you were the only who knew about each school I got accepted to the moment I got my letters.)
While people have come and gone from my life, you have always been there no matter what. You have been there for a bigger part of my life than most people and I'm so thankful that even when I might feel like my life is going downhill, I will always have your love.
Also, thank you for not hating me, even when I forced you into doing a photoshoot with me.
However, like all great things in our lives, nothing lasts forever.
And recently I have been constantly reminded that you're not as young as you once were and that dogs aren't meant to last forever.
While it might seem dramatic or just straight heartless, I have been preparing myself for when the moment comes when you're no longer here, especially with me away from home as often as I am.
For now, I will cherish every moment I have with you when I'm home and continue to show you off to people who don't even know you but know just how much I love you. And how thankful I am for you being my best friend.
Sincerely,
Your just as grumpy owner
