5 Bible Verses I Enjoy as a Non-Christian
There's value to be found in the Bible as a work of literature, not just as a religious text.
This is a response to 10 Bible Verses For Thanksgiving.
I haven't been a practicing Catholic for nearly ten years. I diverged from religion for personal reasons, but I can't deny the beauty of some of its traditions. I believe there's some value to be found in the Bible as a work of literature. Here are five quotes that resonate with me as a non-believer.
Ruth 1:16
“Do not urge me to leave you or to turn back from following you; for where you go, I will go, and where you lodge, I will lodge. Your people will be my people, and your God, my God."
Proverbs 18:21
“Death and life are in the power of the tongue.”
Proverbs 15:1
"A soft answer turneth away wrath."
Psalm 139:14
“I give thanks to you that I was marvelously set apart. Your works are wonderful—I know that very well.”
Proverbs 18:15
“An intelligent heart acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.”
