If you've been following the news, you know about the Noah's Ark structure that opened in the Christian theme park, Ark Encounter, in Williamstown, Kentucky. According to Ken Hamm, founder of Ark Encounter, the park is an "evangelical tool aimed at teaching creationism, a literal interpretation of the Bible's Book of Genesis."

Since it's creation, the park has received praise as well as criticism. Proponents of the theme park say it "proclaims God's word and the gospel" and show "that the biblical flood account is historic and the Bible is true in regard to history and science." Critics of the theme park say that "the museum would steer the public inaccurately away from science education" and "children would be indoctrinated rather than educated."

My problem with this theme park has nothing to do with my beliefs on religion. The problem I have with the Noah's Ark theme park is a Christian group's use of money to build a theme park.

The new Noah's Ark structure cost about $100 million to complete with approximately $62 million raised from investors and $38 million coming from donors. With that much money, a lot of good could have been done in the world. One hundred million dollars could provide a lot of meals to families who are struggling, build shelters for those who are homeless or help advance cancer research. Instead, a theme park was created.

Supporters say this will educate people in the truth of God's word. There is no doubt that this theme park will educate people, but it will also divide people. There are many people who have different interpretations of Christianity such as believing in evolution coupled with creationism. There are also those who don't have religious beliefs, so they shouldn't even go to the theme park. However, that won't stop them from voicing their opinions.

People are always wondering why there is so much poverty, homelessness and strife in the world and what they can do help. One of easiest things they can do is donate. Instead they decided to create a theme park that may educate some, but will also create future problems as well.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
