For those of you who may be unfamiliar with Grammy award winner Imogen heap think of her as an astronaut among grounded synth pop musicians. She is her own nebula of creativity.

Never heard of her? I bet you have heard one of her songs in either the Chronicles of Narnia, Shrek II, Smallville, The Holiday, Hero's, Ghost Whisperer, Grey's Anatomy , The Vampire Diaries or Gossip Girl, to name a few .

Ever heard of Frou Frou? of course you have and probably without meaning to. Frou Frou is the anthem of elevators and supermarkets everywhere! Well, Imogen Heap was the essence of Frou Frou before she went solo.

Imogen is also an inventor. She helped invent Mi.Mu gloves which are used to play several instruments at the same time using only hand motions. Using these gloves she wrote music for her song, "Me the Machine".

Let's add mother to the list, because recently Imogen has had a baby. Baby Florence Scout Rosie Heap-Lebor, "Scout" for short, possibly has one of the coolest moms in the world. In Imogen's newest song, Little Human, she expresses the magnitude of blessing, weariness and beauty that comes from having children.

"I can barely remember life before...
You came crashing in on one day
Crazy beautiful you
From the ashes of Pompeii
To fireworks and champagne
Crazy beautiful you"

She sings as hot water falls down and steam rises from her body. She dances within the chair. Her head jerks spraying water droplets; mimicking the pain of child birth. Then she fades momentarily representing her tired body on the brink of nonexistence. But in the end she is worth it, the baby that is. Imogen tries to imagine life before Scout, which is portrayed as her leaving the chair and running free, but she simply can't.

Scout is the luckiest little girl ever. She already has an anthem for her life and it is absolutely beautiful.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
