With extra free time over the summer and no new SNL episodes airing, what could be better than binging some classic SNL sketches! Here are some of my personal favorites:

1. Girlfriends Game Night

Starring Cecily Strong and former SNL cast member, this sketch in which a woman brings her "older" husband to a game night with her girlfriends is so hilarious that even the cast members can't help but laugh.

2. Another Dysfunctional Family Dinner

Originally airing in 2001 and starring Will Ferrell, Amy Poehler, and Gwyneth Paltrow, this sketch hilariously recounts a dysfunctional family dinner that I think all of us have experienced some form of.

3. Melissa McCarthy as Sean Spicer (all of them)

Melissa McCarthy's SNL appearances as former White House press secretary Sean Spicer are absolutely hilarious. I have linked the first one above, but all of them are worth a watch. She really hits the nail on the head.

4. Welcome Video

This sketch takes a hit on Trump's travel ban and parodies the "welcome video" guiding visitors to the U.S. through customs.

5. The 2016 Presidential Election Debates

All of SNL's presidential debate parodies were absolutely hilarious, and all deserve a view. Kate McKinnon and Alec Baldwin are absolutely incredible as Clinton and Trump, respectively. I have linked the town hall debate, because it is my personal favorite, but all three of them are brilliantly funny.

6. Crucible Cast Party

As a theatre kid, I couldn't not include this sketch starring Lin-Manuel Miranda. It hilariously and honestly quite accurately encapsulates the experience of a theatre kid in high school.

7. A Day Off

Kate McKinnon stars in this hilarious sketch depicting a "day off" for Trump's campaign manager, Kellyanne Conway. However, her day is constantly disrupted by various ridiculous things that Trump says that she must clear up.

8. How a Bill Does Not Become a Law

This sketch parodies the classic Schoolhouse Rock song, "How a Bill Becomes a Law." In this version, however, the educational session is interrupted when the bully, "Executive Order" enters the scene.

9. Voters for Trump

A campaign ad for Trump, this sketch shows various Trump supporters, appearing normal and performing everyday tasks, until the disturbing activities they are actually performing are revealed.

10. The Bush Twins’ Secret Language

This hilarious sketch stars Tina Fey and Amy Poehler as President George Bush's twin daughters, having a discussion about their father's presidential performance in their "secret twin language." One of my absolute favorites.

11. Sarah Palin and Hilary Adress the Nation

Also starring the Fey and Poehler duo, this sketch shows Sarah Palin and Hilary Clinton addressing the American people and discussing being a woman in politics.

12. Girlfriends Talk Show series

Starring Cecily Strong as typical teen girl Kyra, and Aidy Bryant as awkward best friend Morgan, the Girlfriends Talk Show series is one of my favorite recurring sketches. A favorite of mine is this one, featuring Scarlett Johansson as their special guest, former prom queen Camden to discuss the do's and don'ts of prom.

13. High School Theatre Show

This is one of my absolute favorite sketches. It's a little too similar to some of my performances in high school...

14. Debbie Downer: Disney World

This sketch is amazing. It stars Rachel Dratch, Lindsay Lohan, Jimmy Fallon, and Amy Poehler, and the best part of this already hilarious sketch is the cast's crack-ups!

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer. And if you haven't already guessed, it's beer. There are few things I take more seriously than my beer, in order are: sports... and beer. Here are my favorite summer brews:

Bruce Springsteen's Top 7 Lyrics

Everything Bruce says in his classic rock songs.

20032
bruce springsteen album cover born in the usa

Anyone who was born and raised in New Jersey (or anywhere really) knows of Bruce Springsteen, whether or not they like him is a whole other situation. I hope that his hundreds of classic rock songs and famous high energy performances, even in his sixties he can put on better concerts than people half his age, are at least recognizable to people of all ages. Love him or hate him (I identify with the former) you have to admit that some of his songs and interviews have inspirational quotes and lyrics.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

3789
Marconi Beach

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.
