A Beautiful Stroll With Beautiful People

My best friends stole my heart.

A Beautiful Stroll With Beautiful People

Blue. Not a cloud in the sky, just blue. I stepped through the red front door of my parent's house to feel the warm breeze on my skin. The sun never felt so hot on my face. As I traveled down the road, I took in my surroundings and smiled at the fact that I was granted such a beautiful day. I watched the cars pass by in a continuous traffic. An automobile carries you from one adventure to the next, but your feet create one on the way. As the three humans I have found pieces of myself in walk in unison with me, I recognize the colorful stride of converse fluent throughout the four of us. We avert our feet to face the entrance to the park we have grown to love.

As we lay our blankets across the grass, I think to myself, "How did I get so lucky?". I traveled through life never knowing the true meaning of friendship. Every friend I ever had taught me that nothing ever lasts and most people aren't going to care about you as much as they care about themselves. People leave, people lie, but we get through it. The fact of the matter is, anyone who doesn't prove themselves worthy of you after a million chances does not deserve to be in your life.

I removed my shoes and felt the grass in between my toes. I hadn't realized I was smiling to myself until they pointed it out. I got lost inside my head once again but when I let myself return, I felt different. Reality was just as beautiful as the made up world inside my head.

For a moment, everything was still. My eyes gazed the horizon as the sun set over the trees, painting a tremendous display of color to light up the world before it falls to sleep.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
