I grew up on a mountain in the middle of Nowhere, NY with my lumberjack dad, school teacher mom, hippie sister, daredevil brother, and adorable puppies. I'm a senior at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH where I'm actively majoring in Environmental Studies and passively minoring in Spanish. Yes, I'm just a small town girl, still living in a small town world.
Sorry for this, but "I love the outdoors"--living that cliché kind of life here in the NH woods. Growing up in the seat of a kayak and hiking boots laced on my feet at all times, needless to say, I'm one of those nature-folk who try and identify trees and bird calls while trying to maintain some semblance of normalcy in my everyday social interactions... I have a lot of friends, I promise.
I spent this past year tagging sea turtles in Costa Rica, researching Black and White rhinos in the South African bush, and attending political and environmental justice rallies all over the East Coast. I am a leader in Dartmouth's fossil fuel divestment campaign, work with NextGen Climate, and co-facilitate Student SURJ with a good friend of mine at Dartmouth. I'm still navigating how activism weaves itself in and out of my life and am quickly learning that it's less of a job or even a pastime, but a way of life. I thankfully have the time, energy, and support to explore and define what it is that I am passionate about doing for the rest of my time on this troubled little speck of dirt we call Earth.
I have been privileged enough to have been given such incredible opportunities and am happy to share my stories, my thoughts, and my adventures with all of you.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about my writing or want to tell me how adorable my dogs are. I welcome all queries and/or adorations!
