A Tribute To T Swift's Lyrical Genius

No matter how you feel about Taylor swift, you have to admit she has had several moments of lyrical genius in throughout her career. Though the nation has been rather disappointed by the lack of a new T Swift album this month, we were all more than happy to celebrate the 10 year anniversary of the release of her very first album: Taylor Swift. As an act of recognition, this week's article is a list of just a few of Swift's best lyrics throughout the years.

"Was I out of line? Did I say something way too honest?" - Forever and Always

"Talk to yourself, talk to the tears, Talk to the man who put you here, And don’t wait for the sky to clear." - Come in with the Rain

"And we know it's never simple, never easy. Never a clean break, no one here to save me." - Breathe

"Looking so innocent, I might believe you if I didn't know" - You're Not Sorry

"And my heart's not breaking, Cause I'm not feeling anything at all, And you were wild and crazy, Just so frustrating intoxicating, Complicated, got away by some mistake" - The Way I Loved You

"The way you move is like a full-on rainstorm And I'm a house of cards, You're the kind of reckless That should send me runnin', But I kinda know that I won't get far" - Sparks Fly

"Take pictures in your mind of your childhood room, Memorize what it sounded like when your dad gets home, Remember the footsteps, remember the words said, And all your little brother's favorite songs" - Never Grow Up

"This is a state of grace, This is the worthwhile fight, Love is a ruthless game, Unless you play it good and right, These are the hands of fate, You're my Achilles heel, This is the golden age of something good and right and real" - State of Grace

"It's 2 AM in your car, Windows down, you pass my street, the memories start" - I Wish You Would

"This love is good, this love is bad, This love is alive back from the dead, These hands had to let it go free, And this love came back to me" - This Love

"'Cause there we are again in the middle of the night.
We're dancing around the kitchen in the refrigerator light
Down the stairs, I was there, I remember it all too well, yeah.

Well, maybe we got lost in translation, maybe I asked for too much,
But maybe this thing was a masterpiece 'til you tore it all up.
Running scared, I was there, I remember it all too well.

Hey, you call me up again just to break me like a promise.
So casually cruel in the name of being honest.

................

Time won't fly, it's like I'm paralyzed by it
I'd like to be my old self again, but I'm still trying to find it"

- All Too Well

"You two are dancing in a snow globe 'round and 'round
And he keeps a picture of you in his office downtown
And you understand now why they lost their minds and fought the wars
And why I spent my whole life trying to put it into words

'Cause you can hear it in the silence
You can feel it on the way home
You could see it with the lights out
You are in love"

- You Are In Love

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
