How To Expect Less And Accept More
A Post On How to Live Your Life For You
One of the biggest struggles in my life is deciding what I want for lunch. Do I want the taco salad or chipotle chicken wrap? Do I want to go for a run now or later tonight? Everywhere I go, it is a process making decisions. Let me tell you, drive-throughs are my worst enemy just ask any of my friends.
No, it's not actually the subjects of the situations that are hard, it's the decision making process. I've always wanted to be sure of what I want whether it's as simple as what I want to eat for lunch or as major as what I want to do with my life. I am a big messy ball of unmade decisions and unsaid opinions and theories. It's been my downfall for as long as I can remember. I've always craved self-assurance and simplicity.
I am here today to explain to you that I am achieving self-assurance and simplicity. Two characteristics that I have wanted to implement in my life for years, and I've done this by accepting who I am. I've come to love my messy mind. It keeps me on my toes, I'm always consumed by emotion and thinking about something thought to provoke. I've come to realize that I am a very thorough and mindful person. I like my decisions to be drawn out to be sure that I am doing what's best for me and my happiness. My overactive mind allows me to do things that I love to do, like content creating.
What I've come to realize is, how incredibly important it is to be true to yourself. Be true to your character, your body, your opinions, your values. Be true to every aspect of your being. Because it's who you are. If you want to change something about your life or character, make sure you're doing it for your best interest, not someone else's. As long as you are being the best person you can be for yourself then is there really that much that you need to change about yourself?
