8 Songs To Remind You That You're 100% THAT B*tch
To the girl who needs a reminder that she's a bad b*tch.

Whether you're going through a breakup, feeling bad about yourself, or just not giving yourself that self-love you deserve — it's time to turn up these tunes. Here is a list of some femme power songs that I blast when I need a hype up. They all vary in genre and sound so there's something for everyone!
1. "Truth Hurts," Lizzo
Lizzo is the QUEEN of self-love and "Truth Hurts" is the ultimate jam. If you've seen "Someone Great" on Netflix you may recognize her song from the kitchen dancing scene (not a spoiler, I promise). When I drive down the street, blasting this with the windows down, "Truth Hurts" reminds me that "I don't play tag...I been it," if you're holding me back and not holding me down, you'll hear the sound of me not calling you back, because I am, 100% THAT b*tch.
2. "Pretty Ugly," Tierra Whack
"Pretty Ugly" is a unique and wacky little tune with a surprise ending. This song is bold and fre$h and helps me remember that other people shouldn't worry about me because "I'm doing just fine, and that it doesn't matter what they think because I'm doing just fine." No matter who it is, other people's judgments don't define you, and sometimes it can be easy to forget that and this song can often be a quick fix for me!
3. "Backin' It Up," Pardison Fontaine (feat. Cardi B.)
Like with most rap songs, I only know what "Backin' It Up" is about half of the time. But I do know that the half I understand is a good one.
To me, it's just a modern day sonnet where rap-Romeo hypes up Juliet.
Listening to this song encourages me to value myself and hold how I let myself be treated to a high standard.
4. "I Wish I Missed My Ex," Mahalia
Time to slow things down a little with "I Wish I Missed My Ex." This smooth, flowy, beautiful song is perfect for a relaxed mood. Mahalia's detailing of how "every time the weekend comes I know it won't be long, 'till you call my phone, you'll be like 'babe come over'" and "talk about you need closure" can be an all too accurate account of your relationship with a booty call, an ex, or so many other people.
It's so inspiring to hear how Mahalia moved on from all of that and now it's like an annoying little kid is hitting her up while she sings "too many missed calls, too many texts, man, I wish I missed my ex".
5. "Bad Girls," M.I.A.
This classic is so often slept on or forgotten. This is the type of song you want to blast driving around with your girls in a convertible (or an insane high-speed car chase like in the capturing music video). This song makes me want to be a bad girl young dumb and broke style. M.I.A. inspires me to thrive and have fun at the moment, and maybe live a little faster. As an artist, she is such a strong role model and activist she exudes boss energy and makes me think that no one "is gonna stop me when I'm coming through."
6. "#NOTYOURS," Scooter Island (Feat. Jungle Pussy)
Thanks to "Broad City" (the best, wokest, and most creative show I have seen) I was introduced to the song #NOTYOURS. This unpredictable song keeps it interesting right when you think you've got it down with its tempo and rhythmic changes! The energy from this one of a kind style of rap really reaches and infiltrates the listener that's why by the end of this song I am always so into it and stop singing feeling ready to go and unstoppable!
7. "Run The World," Beyoncé
I mean come on, we all need a little reminder that "we run this mother" sometimes. You do a lot, give yourself some credit and praise. This upbeat, fun, and easy to dance to song symbolizes the power of the female collective — when we all come together, we can literally run the world. Women are a force to be reckoned with and that is thanks to all the strong, smart, kind women like you! So pump up the Yoncé, and get to running this world.
8. "Lemonade," Beyonce
So you thought I was done with Beyoncé...Although there are those that think she is overrated I think the overall consensus is that she's a queen and she's here to remind you that
YOU ARE AMAZING!
Through her recent documentary: "Homecoming" Beyoncé used her platform to raise those who are marginalized and empower its groups including women and African Americans. She continued to #slay in her Lemonade Album which reportedly was her response to Jay Z cheating. Throughout the album, she expresses many of her emotions and much of her thought process.
She also has quite a few songs meant to empower women and inspire women to respect themselves and demand that respect from others. The album as a whole is worth listening to but some of my favorite hype up songs include "Don't Hurt Yourself," "Formation," "6 inch Heels," and "Sorry."

10 Summer Activities For Broke College Kids
These are a couple of summer ideas I came up with that shouldn't cost more than $10 and be done in your hometown.

I get super bored when I'm back home. There isn't any homework or projects to work on or constant activities. My parents tell me I'm an expensive kid and tend to spend a lot of money when I'm home going on city trips. These are a couple of ideas I came up with that shouldn't cost more than $10 and be done in your hometown.
1. Hiking
I'm not a very outdoorsy person, but if it is a beautiful day outside, get out of the house and into nature. I'm lucky to live near hiking trails and parks. Hell, there's one in my backyard. There are some hidden gems on those trails if you search hard enough.
2. Drive around and get a little lost
This doesn't have to be a multi-state excursion. Go on a drive by yourself or with your friends. Turn off the GPS for a little and see where you end up. Take the backroads and blast the music out of the speakers. It's a mini adventure, and hopefully, the only thing you may have to pay for is gas.
3. Carnivals
You can choose to spend money here, but local summer carnivals are usually free. Park a little further away to avoid parking fees. There's usually live music and special events for the public. If you want to splurge a little on carnival food or a crazy ride, go ahead.
4. Photoshoots
Photoshoots can be done anywhere. It can be done in your house, you don't even have to leave. Get creative and some pictures for Instagram. You don't need a fancy DSLR camera. The best camera you have is the one you always have with you- your phone.
5. Make a video
This can be one summer recap video or some silly trillers or tik-toks. Get some funny music and unleash your inner goofball or get some video editing skills.
6. Movie Night
Lock yourself in, build a pillow fort, grab some popcorn, and hit play on Netflix. Ask some friends to come over if you choose to. It's even better if it's a musical so you all can sing your hearts out without public judgment.
7. Workout
This is more fun than it seems. You don't even have to have a gym membership. At home workout, videos are a lot of fun. I highly recommend Blogalities. Most of the workouts don't require extra equipment. The videos are fun and move quickly, so it's a lot less painful. Do it with a friend for some extra motivation and a struggle buddy.
8. Board and Card Games
I loved board games when I was little. I still enjoy them but never play them as much. More recently, my family plays a lot of card games. All you need is a deck of cards to play so many different games in a big group. Just make sure everyone involved is a good sport.
10. Fire Pit
If you don't have a fire pit at home, some parks have some. You may want to check the rules though to avoid trespassing. Spend a little bit to make some smores and some wholesome summer memories.

Don't Let Stage Fright Get The Best Of You
Stage Fright? No, You Got This

You walk out on that stage, You feel the lights hitting your face, You feel the audience staring at you. All you can think about is how your gonna mess up, how your gonna be an embarrassment on stage.
Okay see that sounds scary and I know it is because I've been through the same thing multiple times. You can quickly get over that scared feeling if you know how to it right. It is all about your mindset and what you do in that situation
Now, I'm a dancer and have been for 11 years so performing on stage is something that I can do in my sleep. But that doesn't mean that I never get nervous and anxious before stepping in front of thousands of people.
I am also someone who has anxiety so if you can't already tell, being nervous to dance on stage and my anxiety do not mix well.
Before going on stage here are a few things I like to do to calm my nerves.
Shake it out!!
Hype yourself up
Visualize you reducing your own nerves
POWER POSES
Don't psych yourself out...embrace that nervousness
BREATHE!!!!
Enjoy the moment
Finally, come on, you got this :)
Remember that your gonna be on that stage for a reason and your gonna thank yourself later for being brave and going up there.

A Guide On Making The Most Out Of Your Next Concert Experience
Concerts are amazing experiences all on their own, but there is plenty we can do to make the most of them!

As summer approaches, so does concert season. Whether you're going to a festival like Lollapalooza or a normal tour concert, the experience is most likely going to be extremely memorable. But, as with most things in life, there is plenty we can do to make the absolute most of them! Since I am prepping for a concert, myself, in the coming weeks I thought it'd be a good idea to share some tips I do as well as what some of my friends do in order to fully prepare themselves for and to thoroughly enjoy a concert!
Tips for logistics (1-8):
Tips for the fun: (9-15):
Buy the tickets.
Duh?
Arrange travel.
Nothing is worse than realizing the day before (or of!) the concert that you don't know how you're getting there. Anticipate traffic or delays. Make sure you can pay for any parking fees. Figure out any carpools.
Be fed and hydrated.
Especially it's an all-day festival or you can't bring your own, make sure you plan ahead to eat before and drink throughout the day. Or make sure you have money to get concessions during the concert. Concerts can be physically draining, so you got to make sure your body is probably fueled to get the most out of it. It's a great idea to have snacks in the car for the way home from a concert.
Make sure your phone is charged.
This is important for safety and staying in touch with whoever you're going to the concert with as well as with any family members checking in on you. Also if you're someone who loves to take lots of photos or videos at a concert it's the worst if your phone dies before your favorite song or it notifies you that you have no storage left! It's nice to leave a charger in your car, so you can charge it on your way home as well.
Be comfortable.
- Not only in the location of the concert and who you're with but also in your attire. Take the weather into account (especially if it's outside). If you're going to be standing all day or night, wear comfortable shoes. And just wear clothes that you want to be in -- You're the one wearing it for three+ hours, so it might as well be something you'll be comfortable in.
Plan for bathroom breaks.
This goes for logistics and fun, but you don't want to get stuck in the position where you may have to leave a performance -- perhaps your favorite song -- and you have to leave to go the bathroom. How unfortunate?! Don't let it happen to you.
Expect to experience All The Feels.
If you know the artist(s) may sing a song that just hits you in the feels every time, maybe it's a good idea to wear waterproof mascara or bring tissues. Or just let anyone you're at the concert with to pay no mind if you get overwhelmed with the emotions (whether that means you start crying or are just hyper-excited because of the energy of the concert).
Be thoughtful.
You don't want to have to carry around a big bag all day or night. Also just think about bag checks...don't bring stuff you know security is going to take. Make sure you have money and an ID and your phone...there isn't much else you really need.
Get hyped!
However you do this, go for it! One of the best ways is to jam (weeks before and) on the journey to the concert.
Become familiar with the songs and the lyrics!
Concerts are for losing your voice, right?!
Relax.
Just know that you need to be flexible because everything may not go as planned, but it's still going to be great and you just need to sit back and enjoy it!
Go with someone that will enjoy the concert (& the artist(s)) just as much as you and that you'll have fun with!
Don't bring a Debby-downer and definitely don't become one! You're there for a good time. Don't care about others may think about you...go crazy, dance, scream the lyrics, lose your freaking mind.
But also...don't be afraid to go by yourself.
Live in the moment and be yourself! Don't deny yourself a memorable experience just because everyone else is busy or doesn't like the artist(s).
Merch.
Rep it if you got it. Bring money if you want it. But also remember that you could probably get the same t-shirts for cheaper online.
Be as cringey as you want!
Pay no mind to the side glances. Just be yourself. Take as many photos as you want. Dress up or down as much as you want. Record the whole concert if you want to. You spent the money, so make it worth it! Embrace the crazy fan and extrovert inside of you!

The 4 Worst E3 Press Conferences Ever Held
Whether it was the cringe factor, blunders, fails, or even announcements that were just outright disappointing to hear.
30 April 2019

It's almost every gamer's favorite time of the year. In a little over a month, E3 2019 will be upon us. You would think that big game companies would bring their A-games to these conferences, but that's not always necessarily the case. Today we're going to go through the top five worst E3 conferences ever held.
Whether it was the cringe factor, blunders, fails, or even announcements that were just outright disappointing to hear.
1. The Xbox One announcement – 2013
Starting at number one on our list is Microsoft's conference in 2013. Microsoft's main focus during this time was the newly revealed Xbox One. With that being said, the majority of the conference was talking about the various features on the console that were eventually removed in the final product. There were barely any games announced for the new system. Microsoft also went out of their way to tell fans that the new console will need an internet connection to operate. To pour salt on that wound, Microsoft tells us that the system would also need the Kinect in order for your console to function properly. A new console couldn't hide the anger and uproar from fans.
2. Jamie Kennedy – Activision 2007
Activision made a mistake in 2007 by hiring Jamie Kennedy, a famous comedian, to host its live press conference. To be more comedic (I guess), Kennedy decided to show up to the press conference drunk and high. Kennedy cracked jokes at game producers and audience members throughout the show and would frequently stumble and forget video game titles and would always make inappropriate jokes instead. I don't think he's getting a gig anytime soon.
3. Konami 2010
The Konami 2010 press conference was very...interesting and random. The whole conference itself seemed ad-libbed and off script. From half-naked wrestlers to many awkward minutes of silence, Konami's press conference will be one to remember. Now that I think about it, this train wreck of a show actually made me forget what games were even announced during their conference.
4. Nintendo 2008 Press Conference
After their 2008 press conference, Nintendo actually issued an apology for its performance during their E3 conference. The conference consisted of showing off the Wii's motion controls. What made things worse was at times the controls weren't always calibrated correctly, which makes a recipe for disaster. The actors themselves didn't make things better, turning Nintendo's conference into a cringe-fest.
However, we must never forget that E3 is a completely live event that's being streamed all around the world to millions. Not everything is expected to come out perfect, but I can promise you we'll come away with some memorable moments.
