'Egg Boy' Should Not Be Seen As A 'Hero,' He's Rotten
Regardless if you agree with someone or not, it is unacceptable to disrespect someone that way.
As I browse through social media, I keep seeing this young kid egg an Australian senator. His nickname is "Egg Boy" and people are actually calling this kid a hero. Society is slowly digressing into a barbaric state and it starts with things like this.
Recently an Australian senator said some harsh comments about Muslims regarding the aftermath of the Christchurch shooting in New Zealand. Instead of blaming the white supremacist who physically carried out the shooting, he somehow found a way to blame Muslim immigrants. Of course, no sane human being can agree with this dumb ass, so that is why he has been in the news as of late. It wasn't till a few days after at a press conference where a 16-17-year-old kid took an egg and slammed it into the senators head during a live interview. The senator, in turn, turned around and smacked the kid. The thing that bothers the shit out of me is the fact that the kid is being called a hero.
It is almost never acceptable to advocate for violence because of some words that were said. I absolutely hate the fact that this senator said something so stupid, but I equally hate how that kid (and society) is handling it. No one has ever heard of this senator before his stupid comments which prove he doesn't have a major say. There is such a small portion of people that even agree with him so the argument that his words are influential is garbage. The only reason he is in the news is because of how wrong the comments were. We wouldn't be talking about it today if he weren't so wrong. If someone agreed with hating or loving Muslims, a random Senator's words aren't going to change anything.
This leads to the actions of "Egg Head" (my new nickname for this punk). This kid acted as if he were truly a child by slapping an egg on a senator. Not only is this childish, but it's almost as worse as the comments made by the senator. I believe this because the kid physically assaulted someone because he didn't agree with the comments. I remember doing something similar when I was 10 when I disagreed with my brother.
It's not only that "Egg Head" did this, but it's also the public opinion on it too. Almost everyone is calling this little prick a hero for assaulting someone for having a different opinion than their own. Were we not taught at an early age that this is unacceptable? Almost every day I go onto social media, I am constantly losing faith that society can get things together. Praising actions like this is as childish as doing the action itself.
I care so little about the identities of these people that I just use their titles, it's about more than just an egg. If as a society, we start making people "heroes" because they assault people they disagree with, we will become barbaric. Of course, this is just an egg, but you must look at the bigger picture. Most people who hate Donald Trump probably wish they could smack him with an egg, but they won't because it's childish and they fear the consequences.
Society, stop making everything a "meme" or a "joke" because then you won't be taken as serious. We will continue to digress as a society if actions like these are praised. For both the Senator and "Egg Head," fuck you.
