My Last Week Of High School
The last week of high school for me was hectic between deadlines and events taking place
My last year of high school has been absolutely crazy and hectic. I have made memories that will last me my entire life. I have attended events I normally would not, and I have pushed myself out of my comfort zone. Through my last week of high school, I have had mixed feelings. On one hand, I am completely done with high school, and I'm excited for it to be over. On the other hand, I am anxious about what is coming, and I am not sure I am ready for it. With all of the events taking place during my last week, I have made some good memories with some good friends.
On Tuesday, the first day of my school week, I celebrated my eighteenth birthday. With all of my teachers and classmates wishing me a happy birthday, I was reminded of how for my next birthday, I would not be around any of them. I will be off in a town 126 miles from my home. All of my closest friends will be scattered all over the state of Oklahoma. When I went out with my parents later that night, I was reminded that for my next birthday, I will not be able to celebrate with them on the exact date. I will have to wait until after my finals are done and travel back home to spend time with them.
Wednesday was the day of our senior trip. I was not really looking forward to it because I do not like most of my senior class, and spending an entire day with them was not my cup of tea. I decided to go, though, because I wanted to have a fun time with my friends. I ended up having a great time, and it was a good chance to hang out with my friends for one of the last times altogether. I ended up pushing myself and rode a roller-coaster for the first time ever. To say it was exhilarating would be an understatement. The memories made will be ones I cherish for years to come.
On Thursday, my class had our "Senior Skip Day". Some students couldn't take part because of absences, but my little friend group had a good time. We went to our local recreation center and swam in the indoor pool. It was a nice day to just relax and have fun together. After we were done swimming for a couple of hours, we decided to go to Whataburger for lunch. We laughed over dumb jokes, cried tears of joy from these dumb jokes, and overall just had a good time together.
My last day of high school was actually not as emotional as I thought it would be. After leaving each class, I would hug my teacher and tell them how much they meant to me. As the day went on, I enjoyed my last few laughs with my friends and said goodbye to the teachers I had grown up with the last four years. Although I know I will be on the campus again this week for senior checkout day and our senior assembly, last week was the last time I would be on campus like I had been the last years.
As I went through my last year of high school, it was crazy and hectic, but I definitely had a good time. Even though last week was my last week of high school, I will still have some great memories to take with me as I transition to college. Never take your high school years for granted, even if they aren't the best.
