Keshaās song "Praying" is so much more than her next big hit; it is a symbol of her freedom from Dr. Luke and Kemosabe Records. I absolutely love the song and everything that it symbolizes.
I compiled a list of everything to love about "Praying", so be sure to check it out and give the song a listen.
1. Kesha is telling Dr. Luke to pray.
She is finally free; he is the one begging on his knees for her mercy. She focuses on the future rather than the past when she was the one praying.
2. It makes an excellent break-up anthem.
Although it was not the original intent of the song, it is the perfect song to belt out after a bad break-up.
3. It is different from her other music.
She is free to produce what she wants rather than what the studio made her produce. I liked her old music ā I even made up a dance to "Tik Tok" in middle school ā but I absolutely love that "Praying" came from Kesha's heart.
4. She crushes those high notes.
"Praying" reveals Keshaās incredible range of vocal ability.
5. It is professional.
She could have written a song called "Dr. Luke is a Monster" ā and I would still listen to it a thousand times ā but she kept it classy. She still calls him out for all the wrong that he has done, but she does it gracefully.
6. She shows him that he could not destroy her.
Since she released such a powerful song, she shows Dr. Luke that she is so much better off without him. He hurt her, but he will never destroy her.
7. It's a great song.
Enough said.
