Meghan Trainor is that new break out artist that everyone has fallen in love with, I know I have. Her album Title, has become a huge hit, but her songs are something I want to focus on. Meghan Trainor not only has those catchy and feel good vibes, but each has a great meaning behind every song. Here are five songs with substance deeper than the lyrics:
1. All About That Bass
Her first single to come out of her album and make a big hit; the true establishment of Meghan Trainor. The popular song has over 1 billion views on YouTube. One of the lyrics in the song states, "Every inch of you is perfect from the bottom to the top" and this lyric is something that everyone should live by. In today's society, every girl thinks that her body is not perfect and that something can be changed, but you do not need to change for anyone or anything.
2. Walkashame
We've all been there and done that. That's right ladies, the walk of shame. That one night where you may have had a little bit too much to drink, and possibly went home with the hot guy. Don't forget that thought quivering lapse of having to sneak out in the morning, mostly to avoid the awkwardness of "Do I say goodbye or that it was fun but never again?". As Meghan puts it, "We all make mistakes in the drunk world."
3. Mr. Almost
We've all had a Mr. Almost, that one guy who is the perfect guy... but just not your perfect guy. We feel so bad when we have to break their hearts, but its better than leading them on. "You were so sweet when we're kissing, but there's something I'm missing, baby, there's no chemistry." It say's it all right there in that lyric.
4. 3AM
This guy is most definitely not your Mr. Almost – he is the one that you can't have. "3AM, yep I'm texting you once again, even though I'm hanging with my friends, and I can't help it, I can't help myself." I know I've done this, texted the guy that you wanted with a little liquid encouragement. Then you wake up the next morning upset and embarrassed so you repeatedly apologize to said person. Yup, just play it off like it's nothing, and move on. The best way to get over said person is to delete there number that way you don't end up texting him at 3AM.
5. Like I'm Gonna Lose You
Last, but not least, one of my personal favorites, Like I'm Gonna Lose You. "I won't take you for granted 'cause we'll never know when, when we'll run out of time so I'm gonna love you, like I'm gonna lose you." This song means that you will love someone no matter what and that you will love them because one day you will lose them and they wont be there for you to hold anymore.
