Runners and non-runners, our thought processes are identical while on a run. Whether it’s a 20 minute or a 60 minute run day, I will most likely be replaying these thoughts in my head the entire time.
1. How has it only been five minutes? How am I going to get through another 45?
2. My calves are on fire.
3. Remember that blister from the other day, I sure do right about now.
4. Why are there so many bugs out today and why are they all buzzing right into my mouth?
5. I’m melting.
6. Maybe this is just how God designed me to die.
7. Need water, but it’s in the car six miles away.
8. My arm is sore, am I having a heart attack?
9. I think my lungs are about to implode.
10. Shoot, that blister is really starting to burn. Do I feel blood on my sock?
11. I can’t wait for carbs.
12. Gotta check my FitBit app but people will think I’m on Pokemon Go.
13. Speaking of, gotta GO GO GO to the bathroom.
14. I regret the coffee and oatmeal I had this morning.
15. I said I would do abs after this…
16. How many ants and other tiny insects have a smashed into the pavement or grass just now?
17. Why doesn’t everybody run?
