Before beginning my journey at my new home, I heard of the freshmen 15, but I never understood what that was.. Until now. If you don't know, the freshmen 15, is when a first year student puts on an excessive amount of weight. For the longest, this was just a rumor, but now it is set in place, at almost every university/college in the United States. No matter what you try to do to avoid this, you will put on weight, unless you have a high metabolism. Other than that, this is out to get you and every one around you.

Please do not fear, there are some ways to gain less than 15 pounds. As soon as you come to college, set some time aside to walk around part of your college campus with some hills. This will increase your heart rate which will burn a little more calories than walking on flat surfaces. If you prefer, running, sprinting, or jogging, go ahead and do that, but personally for me I prefer walking.
