'Wizards Unite' Is Finally Out And It Was SO Worth The Wait
"Pokemon GO!" has nothing on this epic new Harry Potter adventure!
Ever since I found out they were making a Harry Potter version of "Pokemon GO!" nearly 2 years ago I have been dying to play it. Niantic did an amazing job with the Pokemon app that I knew adding wizards could only make it better. The only question I had been asking: what would it be about?
"Wizards Unite" seems to take place after Deathly Hallows and the Battle of Hogwarts, though I've seen some characters who were dead appear already. The main premise of the game is that you are looking for scattered magical people, objects, creatures - called Foundables - and returning them to the Ministry of Magic. They were stolen by a dark wizard and are protected by Confoundables that you must defeat in order to save them. You need energy for spells instead of Pokeballs and inns replace Pokestops.
But that's not all! What I'm really enjoying about "Wizards Unite" is the added greenhouses where you can get ingredients that you will need to make potions. Just like in "Pokemon GO!" potions will help you win battles, but also attract more of Foundables.
There's also more layers to the game in general. I like how there's a story to this instead of just go out and find stuff. There's also more you can do with your profession which is replacing the "Pokemon GO!" teams. There are challenges and more things to gain with your profession and overall in the game.
As with any new game release, there are some glitches that need to be ironed out. For example, just like with "Pokemon GO!" it is a bit slow at times (but not nearly as much as!). I also haven't been able to figure out the picture thing. There are other small little graphical details that could also be improved upon.
One thing to keep in mind as you play is that it's a brand new app. Just like before, you need to be patient as Niantic works out the glitches. There are a lot of people playing and it literally came out within the last week. Chill.
Overall, "Wizards Unite" is a huge improvement on its predecessor. I'm very impressed by everything I've seen and can't wait for them to fix the bugs and level up to see what more it has to offer.
