Anime Is HIGH KEY Amazing
I've recently gotten into the world of anime, and I'm sad I didn't find it sooner.
For those of you familiar with the world of anime, you know what this article is going to be about. Let the record state, so far, I have watched "Seven Deadly Sins", "Death Note", "Your Lie In April", "One Punch Man", and more. I've enjoyed every single one. As of 2018, I had never watched any anime, mostly because I grew up in a setting where it was seen as 'weird'. In January 2019, I started my first ever anime series ("Death Note"), and from then on, I was hooked. Let me explain a few reasons why I love it so much.
First off, I love how short some are and long others are. You could have an anime like "Your Lie In April" that is one season of 22 episodes, or you could have a series like "Fairy Tail" that never seems to end. The short ones are so nice to binge over a weekend. Long animes are great when you have the "I've run out of shows to watch" issue.
Second, the animation can be interesting and beautiful. It really is an art. "Spirited Away" is a great example of this. I find myself getting lost in the animations then having to rewind because I wasn't reading the subtitles.
Third, characters actually die; the main characters die. We tend to see only secondary characters in Western film culture dying, but in many animes, being a main character means nothing. We see this issue in "Attack on Titan" where scout after civilian after officer gets slaughtered before our eyes. This adds a beautiful, realistic element to these series.
Fourth, the MUSIC! Hello! The soundtracks for "Cowboy Bebop" and "Samurai Champloo" especially are especially wonderful. As a musician, I can fully appreciate how incredibly these are composed and displayed throughout these animes.
Fifth and finally, no matter what you're into ('slice of life', fantasy, action, comedy, romance, or adventure) there is something out there! There is so much diversity in anime, and no matter who you are, you'll find a series that you'll love. Every anime is a beautiful work of art, and I am in love with it.
