Carroll Forbes

My name is Carroll Forbes I am a sophomore here University of Central Florida. This is my first semester at UCF because I spent the academic year of 2014-2015 studying at the Universita Cattolica Del Sacro Cuore in Milan, Italy. During my time there I had the chance o travel to the U.K, the Netherlands, Israel and I also did my fair share of travelling within Italy. At UCSC I was studying Economics and Business Management there and as much as I loved living in Italy I was never enthusiastic about the major. After a lot of thinking I realized I have always been passionate about writing and followed many news outlets so I made the decision to transfer back to the U.S. and change my major to Journalism with a minor in Digital Media. I spent the fall at home in Sarasota, Florida working and earning college credit through CLEP so I could come to UCF without a semester wasted. Since arriving at UCF at the beginning of January I have become involved in Young Life and the Delta Zeta Sorority while taking courses such as Principles of Journalism and History of American Journalism. Other interesting facts about me include I can speak Italian fluently and Spanish at an advanced level. In my free time enjoy playing guitar and singing, doing the NYT crossword, reading, going to the movies and cooking. I feel that your organization shows excellence in the field in which I want to enter and I believe that the opportunity to work for it would give me further exposure I need to advance in my career path. I would be able to contribute skills such as diligence, enthusiasm, and creativity along with being an efficient, hard worker. Upon graduating, I hope to work for a company that places emphasis in sharing information and current happenings through writing and social media. With the right opportunities and experience I believe I can achieve this goal and any other ambitions I may have. I hope it starts here at The Odyssey.
