Mcgregor Faces Cowboy In A Long Awaited Grudge Match
Mcgregor Is Eyeing His Return by Summer
After announcing one of many retirements a few weeks ago, the former UFC Featherweight Champion and UFC Lightweight Champion double champ Conor Mcgregor has been training hard in preparations for a UFC return since his suspension from what took place last October at UFC 229. Many are expecting the #3 ranked Lightweight in the division to take on #4 ranked Lightweight Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone in a bout that has been long awaited by everyone.
Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone is coming off a spectacular performance over Al Iaquinta at UFC Fight Night 151 in a fight he won by unanimous decision. Al Iaquinta was dropped a few times throughout the fight including a nasty front kick to the face from "Cowboy" Cerrone that was a kick to remember. Since moving back to the Lightweight division, Cowboy has 2 wins with 2 dominant performances with one of those performances was the TKO victory over Alexander Hernandez.
Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone has continued to express his interest in a fight with "The Notorious" Conor Mcgregor in post-fight interviews and media days. Conor Mcgregor has also continued to express interest in fighting Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone on social media regardless of his so-called retirement. The seed was planted way back during a press conference were "Cowboy" Cerrone and Conor Mcgregor exchanged verbal jabs at one another. On Joe Rogan's podcast, Donald Cerrone who was guest revealed that left him fuming as he was angry with Mcgregor but essentially did not want to get out of his comfort zone of getting out of character due to Mcgregor's shenanigans.
It seemed like the fight was off after news first surfaced that negotiations for the fight fell through on the side of Mcgregor. Everyone is fully aware of while the UFC is pretty much full-time partners with ESPN; it is not necessarily the best for fighters when it comes to fighter salaries and the pay per view numbers. Conor Mcgregor has continued to protest that he deserves a percentage of the company. While honestly it would be deserved at the end of the day it is nonsense as there would be plenty of fighters that would deserve equity in the company. Everyone is aware of the success of "The Notorious" Conor Mcgregor's success with his Proper Irish Whiskey company as he raked in over a close to $1 billion as it has really taken off.
While everyone is ready to do what they have to do it seems like it always falls on Conor Mcgregors lap when it comes to the money situation and negotiations. Recently, the UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier was in a situation like this with former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar as the fight was essentially booked but the UFC could not come to terms with Lesnar due to the finances. While Lesnar knows what is going on with ESPN being the holder of UFC PPV's he wanted a flat out pay for the fight. This could very well be what is taking place with the "Notorious" Conor Mcgregor who is coming off of a loss to the current UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
6 Reasons I Watch Joe Rogan Podcasts And You Should Too
Do you love Joe Rogan Podcasts? So do I and I'll tell you why.
For years I have followed Joe Rogan. From comedy sitcoms, to fear factor, to UFC, and now YouTube podcasts... the guy does it all. I have always found this guy to be so interesting in the way he displays life questions and how comfortable he is with talking about it. Recently I have picked up that many people watch his podcasts on YouTube as a secret pleasure especially around campus. I wanted to investigate why people watch his hour long content rather than an easy vlog or a car rating. I wanted to make sense of it and to answer why we all watch him...
1. The Dialogue Feels So Natural and Informative At The Same Time
GiphyWhen watching Joe Rogan's content it feels so natural. He says what comes into mind, nothing is scripted which makes it SO real. It makes us feel like we are in the moment with him. His tone of voice also enhances this. Nothing is fake, there is no BS.
2. The Topics Are Things We Are Scared to Talk About
GiphyRogan discusses what we are all scared to talk about. Most of us think many of the ideas he brings up, but most of us are afraid to speak on them with family and friends. Why? I literally do not know. I feel like if people discussed this more many wouldn’t feel alone in their thoughts. But if you are interested in talking about fucked up topics let me know!
3. He Questions and Challenges His Guests
GiphyHe always questions and challenges his guests. Rogan brings up questions like "why do you think that?" Leaving the spectator to wonder the same thing. It becomes very interactive, which is why I think many people always tune into his podcasts daily. It is basically exercising our brains. Rogan also has awesome guests that come on like scientist or UFC fighters.
4. It’s Our Safe Place to Wonder About “Bad” Things
GiphyIt is a safe place for us to wonder our "bad" ideas and or thoughts. He brings up many topics about the dark web, space, social media, drugs, alcohol... things that we are taught not to do. It is an escape from reality, but my question for you is what if this is the REAL reality that we aren't letting in? I always wonder if we discussed this more openly that we would make some sense of the world.
5. Makes Us Think About Things We Don’t Everyday
GiphyJoe Rogan and his guests make us think about things we do not think about every day. When we hear the same topics over and over again in class, it becomes refreshing when hearing a new obscure ideal that challenges our minds in many different ways.
6. Makes Us Think Of The Future
GiphyLastly, he makes us think about the future, especially with humanity. Many people I believe get uncomfortable with discussing this topic. So, I think they find comfortability when listening to him and his guests talk about these topics. We can also identify and make sense of what is to come with many of the theories that he brings up.
