I think I've always had a calling for writing, from probably around third grade. And as the years went by and the compliments from teachers kept rolling in, I sort of - almost unceremoniously - decided I wanted to write. The more I think about writing, the more it makes sense. I've always, whether it be subconsciously or otherwise, have analyzed the diction and syntax of some of my favorite authors and novels. From J.K. Rowling to Aldous Huxley, I've pored over their works, looking for clues, dissecting sentences and paragraphs and hoping one day I could reach their respective levels of mastery. I've a long way to that point, but it's a journey that I'm more than willing to take.
