Omar K. Elmore

I am a first generation college student on a full scholarship to a great college. I think my perspective is unique as I am exploring what it means to be apart from the 84% white majority at a small college in the south. I would love to speak about issues regarding being a minority while also speaking about my passions for writing, my pursuit of an English major, and the stigmas that go along with that ("What are you going to do, teach English?"). These articles will be my way of expressing my passions (especially my love of writing) and exploring my unique position. I think I can use this space to explore and dissipate stereotypes, stigmas, and prejudices as a whole!
