Amber Smith Dash

I am a twenty-seven-year-old, Hendersonville, Tennessee transplant. I lived in Attalla, Alabama (which is about an hour northeast of Birmingham) from the time I was fifteen-years-old until the summer after my twenty-fifth birthday. I am a graduate of Lee University and during my time studying there, I had the opportunity to travel with Eddie James and his worship team, Ultimate Call when they were still based out of Alabama.

I moved to Franklin, Tennessee in 2015 to help further the southern Gospel trio I was a part of, The Griffith Family. I was on the road full-time for a year and a half before I came off the road last July due to health issues. While I was on the road, I discovered a love for fashion and began working part-time at a cute little boutique. Since coming off the road, I have continued on there while maintaining a full-time job as a personal assistant.

People ask me all the time if I miss singing but, I am still singing. I am a member of the praise team at my church and my husband (who is a full-time musician) and I do Facebook Live sets as often as we can! Those are not only a musical outlet but a chance to put on a show!

I knew at a young age that music would be something I pursued and that there was a calling on my life but it did not become a true passion until my teen years. The majority of my teen years were spent doing ministry with our youth group and with different ministries that would need the extra help. In spite of the busy, there were times when I experienced rejection from people within the ministry but I never let it distract me from the call I knew was on my life.

One of my favorite quotes is, “Never let the fear of striking out, keep you from playing the game.” And I am so thankful I did not let fear win! If I had, I would not have ended up in my dream city and I definitely would not be able to share my heart for the Lord and music and every other thing under the sun with you!
