My name is Heather Ashley Searfoss. I am 25 years old and I am a recent graduate of Penn State University. I graduated in May 2016 with a Bachelor's degree in Humanities majoring in Communications/ Public Relations and I will be going back for my Master's in General Management soon. I have a small family. I am currently employed as an account representative for the Government IT distributor, Carahsoft Technologies Inc. I volunteer for the Peyton Walker Foundation, which raises awareness about sudden cardic arrest, the Central PA Food Bank, One More Day Foundation, which raises awareness about distracted driving, and running 5Ks for many other non-profits. I have been a blogger of societal change since Spring 2014,Societal Change: What can we do?, a writer of societal change for Odyssey's Changemakers since September 2016, and a writer of the Penn State Odyssey Community since September 2018. My poetry has been published in 5 books for the publishing company Eber & Wein Publishing for the Best Poems of 2011, 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2018. I am currently working on 3 books and planning to start my own non-profit against domestic violence in low-income communities that provides counseling, protective, and housing services to those who have been affected by domestic violence. I also plan for this non-profit to be engaging so that children can experience the luxuries that average children their age experience such as playing ball, sleeping in a warm bed, and feeling accepted. I believe that everyone has a talent and that each child should experience a normal life. In short terms, I work hard, I dream harder, and I love the hardest. If I didn't dream, work, or love I wouldn't have the drive to give my family and myself the best future possible.

"Being a writer is like tasting the spice of life again. Being a writer is like sipping sugar from a salty world." ~ Heather Searfoss
