I have chosen to work with The Odyssey because it represents what I firmly believe in, that is the freedom of expression in college campuses. It is my privilege to story tell, analyze and criticize through this avenue. Just as Odysseus (the root word for Odyssey) means ‘trouble’ in Greek, I believe that this inaugural branch of The Odyssey at Smith College would be another frontier where students confront injustice, complacency and ignorance. I urge you, our valued reader, to join us in literary trouble-making by reading, sharing and engaging in articles on The Odyssey.
