Jakayla Toney

Jakayla Toney is an American writer of young adult novels. She is known for her horrifying and creepy ghost stories. Authors such as R.L. Stine and Mary Downing Hahn are her influences.With over twenty books, the author's novel, "Hide and Seek" has been her breakthrough in the writing world having over 8 MILLION reads on the website Wattpad.com along with winning The Watty's Award in 2016 thus becoming a Wattpad Star. In 2017, Chapters: Interactive Stories App purchased Hide and Seek to become an interactive game where millions of users over the world can access. In 2018, Jakayla contributed to "The Writer's Guide to Wattpad" for Reader's Digest. Her article with them (43-52) is on buying and making book covers.Although born in South Carolina, USA, in 2009 the author moved to Egypt with her parents to learn Arabic where she eventually became fluent in that language. Her time there was full of interesting events including witnessing and living through The 2011 Egyptian revolution.
