Emily Waryck

I will provide insight into both local and global issues for my community. As I push myself to learn new things and explore new topics and ideas, I will share my findings with the community to which I'm closest -- the Tusculum College student body. As a community, I feel it's vital to our stability to understand what's happening in our own lives and in the lives of those around us so that we may better communicate with one another. To me, a community implies a sense of wholeness that I think is best established by a common thread that connects everyone in a community. I want to get people talking to one another because I think that the lack of communication between diverse groups of people is one of the major drawbacks that creates a divide between the people on our campus. If I could create something to capture the interests of groups of people who normally don't interact with one another, then I'm successful. That's what's important to me: closing the rift between groups of people who see only their differences and never their similarities.
