Jeremiah Smith

I was born at the age of zero. In the seventh grade I had my own children's book published. I'm currently working on a three-part novel series about a man named Denis who lives in Alaska and dreams to own an alligator farm.

And yes, I'm well aware that I'm writing in the first person for this biography, so technically this is an autobiography (I could get way more philosophical about this, but let's continue).

For the past five years I have been working toward my four-year degree in Aerial Glass Blowing. My dreams were shattered when I began my practicum studies... just like Denis...

I am a thespian and have performed in many shows including Lucky Stiff, Fiddler on the Foof (no, not 'Roof,' the show cards said 'Foof') but much ado about nothing (I was in that too); eighteen shows and counting. I've been involved in theater since the seventh grade and have played renown roles such as Ebenezer Scrooge, Touchstone the Clown, and Person of Oz. Unfortunately, I have not yet been in Sweeney Todd, nor Shakespeare's Star Wars: The Empire Striketh Back. I am a co-founding member of a local professional theater group called Off Pitt Street Productions (https://www.facebook.com/OffPittStreet | http://www.offpittstreet.com/ops-guild.html). I have been addicted to theater for about seven years, but am currently four months sober.

I am also an amateur playwright and now a columnist for Odyssey. I am anxious to get started. The content I provide will mostly be political and opinion pieces, but I will also occasionally submit post-apocalyptic, vampire fanfiction. I've never been one for politics - the prefix 'poli-' means 'many' and a tick is a blood-sucking insect, but I love talking about my opinion. Who doesn't? I once started my own newsletter when I was in the fifth grade (best two years of my life), so as you can imagine I'm a bit rusty.
