My name is Amanda Rasera, I'm an international student from Brazil and I'm majoring in Studio Arts at the University of South Florida at Tampa. I grew up in Porto Alegre, the capital city of the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Being born and raised in a big city in a third-world country made me a world-conscious person. I always recognized my privileges of being a white, blonde girl from a family where all essential needs were always supplied. However, it was only at 18 that I effectively started to play a role in social and political causes. Before that, I was politically confused and not so altruistic. What you can expect from me are posts that will range from just opinion-based articles to science-based arguments, with subjects ranging from games, music, and entertainment reviews to pro-feminism and anti-fascism standpoint-expression essays. Not only all about Brazilian history and culture but also all about my history and culture. Writing, for me, is not just a way of self-expression, but also a way of making friends, discovering new things, improving myself, and, mainly, inspiring people. I feel like that's my purpose in this world: inspire.
