Z100 hosted their biggest event of the year on Friday as over a dozen stars took the stage of Madison Square Garden to perform at their annual Jingle Ball.
The sixth stop on the nation-wide Jingle Bell tour featured artists Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Camila Cabello, Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Halsey, Demi Lovato, The Chainsmokers, Why Don't We, Sam Smith, Logic, Fall Out Boy, Charlie Puth, Julia Michaels and Cheat Codes.
Other stops on the iHeart Radio tour include Dallas, San Francisco/San Jose, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington D.C., Chicago, Atlanta, Tampa and Miami.
Ed Sheeran opened the show playing hits like "Castle on the Hill," "A Team," "Shape of You" and more while his bff and fellow Jingle Ball performer, Taylor Swift, closed the show with new hits like "Ready For It?" as well as "Shake It Off" and "Look What You Made Me Do." Sheeran joined Swift during her set to perform their latest collaboration, "End Game."
Halsey also took to the stage with two collaborations with both G-Eazy and Fifth Harmony's Lauren Jauregui to sing "Him + I" and "Strangers." Halsey also stepped onto the stage to sing the hit song "Closer" along with the Chainsmokers.
Following in the collaboration footsteps, Demi Lovato brought Cheat Codes on stage to perform the song that has been taking the radio by storm, "No Promises."
Logic also took Madison Square Garden to perform his Grammy-nominated song "1-800-273-8255." Before his performance, I caught up with Logic on the red carpet to talk about his nominations and potential acceptance speech.
"I try not to think about it. I know that seems weird but I try not to think about any of this going on in my life because I don’t want it to blow my head up or big ego or stuff like that." Logic's down-to-earth and friendly persona make him an easy conversationalist." I truly just push it aside but right now, I can’t believe it! That shit is crazy!"
Because of how humble he is, I couldn't help but ask if he plans on writing an acceptance speech in preparation for his potential wins.
"I’m not going to write an acceptance speech because you never know." He said, joking afterward that he will definitely be writing a speech.
I also had a chance to chat with Jingle Ball pre-show performer James Maslow. After just releasing an original Christmas song, "Christmas Beautiful," I couldn't help but ask if we can expect a Christmas album from him in the near future.
"Probably not a ton more Christmas songs, maybe next year," Maslow said. "I tried to write something original which is always daunting when it comes to Christmas songs."
Moving past Christmas, I asked him if we can expect some new music in the new year.
"Top of the year, a lot of new songs. I've been in the studio and all of it is coming along in a really cool way." Maslow also said he'd be releasing a remix of the title track from his debut album, How I Like It. "I think what I'm going to drop first is a remix of my title track 'How I Like It.' My buddy Eugene who is one of the most talented musicians remixed it and it's unbelievable I can't wait for you to hear it."
We touched on Christmas music and some brand new music, but what about an acoustic album? Is that something he would consider?
"I love stripping things back. Even today I didn't know what I was getting when I showed up to the stage so I got a piano and a guitar. But I'd love to do something stripped down on an album."
