Who are you? What are you like? Have you ever stopped to ask yourself some simple questions and really think about the answers? Here are a list of 28 questions to help you get to know yourself better. You could use these to prepare for an interview, use one a day as a prompt for journaling, or even ask a friend or partner to get to know them better. Really ponder the questions and expand on the answers as much as possible.

  14. What am I excited about?
  15. What activities do I like to do for fun?
  16. What activities would I like to try?
  17. If I could have one wish, what would it be?
  18. Do I have any habits?
  19. Where do I feel safest?
  20. What or who gives me comfort?
  21. What do I dislike about myself? Why?
  22. What is my happiest memory?
  23. What is my saddest memory?
  24. What do I do when I’m feeling sad? Stressed? Angry?
  25. What is my biggest dream?
  26. Who can make me smile no matter what?
  27. What qualities make me unique?
  28. What qualities could I improve?

There are so many things that make you unique! Hopefully, now you have a better understanding of yourself and what makes you, you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register.
