You're A Sober, Congrats

You didn't get to drink for one night, did you want a trophy?

You're A Sober, Congrats

Formal season is upon us, at least for me it is, and that means that your sisters will be asking for sobers at your formals and socials. I volunteered to be sober, as many girls do because a function like that cannot be run without them. A preface to this article, I am 21 years old and enjoy the occasional drink but I volunteer anyways.

One of the worst things about the whole sobering process is getting people to sign up. That's it. That's the worst part. No one wants to do it and I do not understand.

I know there are members in every organization that are under the age of 21 and that means that there are ample people to choose from and volunteer without sacrificing anything at all.

If you aren't 21 you don't have any business drinking and going out to a function like that anyway because there are too many risks. Just volunteer to be a sober. It is not hard. You get to party and dance and do whatever you want, just minus the alcohol.

That shouldn't be a problem, and if it is, you need to reevaluate your life. If you are under the impression that dance is not going to be fun unless you drink, you need to sit down and think about what you are doing wrong.

Being a sober is an honorable thing, yes, but you don't deserve a single thing for it. The thing I see most is that people do not want to be a sober because they can't get drunk and they don't see any benefit from it. Those people are wrong.

Being a sober is vital to an organization. Events cannot be held without sobers and you are protecting your sisters. You joined this organization to have a sisterhood of girls that you can look up to, be loved by, protect and be protected. You wouldn't ask a sister to repay you for the love that you gave her when she was down so why would you expect to be rewarded for protecting them.

My sorority makes sure that our sobers have just as good a time as any other sister, we just have to stay a little longer. You shouldn't complain or want something out of being sober.

You don't do that to your friends and you certainly shouldn't do it to your sisters. If you're a sober, don't expect a single thing from it. It doesn't make you special and it just makes you look bad.

You're a sober. Congrats.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
