It can be kind of depressing saying goodbye to fall as it starts to get cold and snow starts to fall, but it's time to start appreciating winter. It is a beautiful season, so don't let it go to waste. There are so many fun things to do, so don't waste your winter by staying inside, waiting for it to be over.

1. Ice Skating

2. Sledding

3. S'mores and hot coco by the fireplace

4. Christmas movie marathon

5. Gingerbread house building contest

6. Get the blizzard of the month at Dairy Queen

7. Get the holiday themed cup at Starbucks

8. Spend time with your family and friends

Take advantage of being home for the holidays and spend quality time with the people you love.

9. Chop down your own Christmas tree

Go to a Christmas tree farm that lets you chop down your own tree. Don't just chop down a tree from the woods or your neighbor's yard.

10. Decorate your place for Christmas

Go all out this year and really do your place up for the holidays.

11. Make an eggnog cocktail

If you are over 21 of course ;)

12. Secret Santa

Put all of your friend's or family's names in a bowl and pick one. Don't tell anyone who you get and then on Christmas you give whoever you picked a special present picked perfectly for them.

13. Christmas craft night

Make Christmas ornaments, decorate socking, make paper snowflakes, string popcorn, etc. Just go to Hobby Lobby or Micheal's and you will find the perfect winter craft.

14. Go winter clothes shopping

Nothing gets me more excited for winter then buying clothes to keep me warm and looking good in the snow.

15. Build a snowman (or snow-woman)

16. Snow photo shoot

You don't have to have a professional photographer to take some cool pictures in the snow. Just find a friend and take pictures with any camera or your cell phone.

17. Creating a drinking game for one of your favorite Christmas movies

18. Hot tub outside

Hot tubs are awesome in general, but have you ever tried them outside in the cold? It feels amazing.

19. Try a new soup recipe

Nothing tastes better when it's cold then hot soup.

20. Drive around and find the best Christmas lights

21. Pay it forward

Get into the holiday spirit and make someones day by paying for their food/drink at any drive-thru.

22. Bake cookies

Bake your favorite kind of cookies and then decorate them with frosting and sprinkles.

23. Wear pajamas and slippers all day

I will probably be doing this one multiple days this winter.

24. Complete an Advent Calendar

Don't just settle for the cheap chocolate Advent Calendar this year. Get one filled with something a little more unique like a cheese, wine, or truffles.

25. Donate old toys or clothes

26. Read a Christmas story

27. Give all homemade cards this year

28. Throw a party listening to only Christmas jams

29. Creating a drinking game for one of your favorite Christmas movies

30. Snow ball fight

31. Take your pet to get a picture with Santa

At Petsmart, for example.

32. Throw or go to an ugly sweater party

33. Get your nails done with a Christmas or winter design

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
