The Conversation You Have With Yourself On The Walk To Class

We all have these thoughts and conversations with ourselves when it's too early to even be awake.

We all know that little voice in our heads that we use to have conversations in our heads on our way to class each and every day. We can't describe what it sounds like but yet we know exactly what it sounds like! Here is a typical conversation your little voice in your head might have with you on your way to class in the mornings.

"All right, here I go. Ear bud number one in? Check. Ear bud number two? Check again. Ugh, I guess it's real. Looks like I'm not skipping class this morning to sleep in. I probably shouldn't have gone to bed at 2:30 this morning when I knew I have 8:30s. Yikes! Okay okay. What song am I going to pick to play first on the walk this morning? Think. What song will get me in the mood for the rest of the day? Ah yes. "The Cheetah Girls" never fail to impress. Time to start the morning off right!"

*Exits dorm room door and walks down the hallways outside*

"Do I say hi to that girl? Is she even on my floor? Oh my gosh, I just made awkward eye contact KEEP YOUR HEAD DOWN AND WALK QUICKLY TO THE DOOR. Phew, awkward morning encounter averted. But real talk I should have taken the elevator? These stairs are too much in the morning. This is about to be death by stairs. Alright just run down them as fast you can. CHARGE! Made it. Maybe I'm not as out of shape as I think I am. I am totally not looking forward to climbing those four flights of stairs to get to my class though, good Lord."

*Finally gets outside*

"'You gotta strut like you mean it, free your mind! It's not enough just to feel it, come on, come on, come on!' Oh no that girl totally just saw me jamming to the Cheetah Girls. Shoot! Oh no, now she's laughing at me. Ah, whatever it was pretty funny. I guess I'll smile at her. But seriously, I probably just looked so dumb oops. OH MY GOSH, I HAVE 10 MINUTES UNTIL CLASS STARTS! I literally need to book it. Okay, I know running is literally the actual death of me but I can't be late on the second day. I guess speed walking will do. It's too early to run anyways. Perfect, this next song is a total jam that will get me in the mood. Halfway there, let's go!"

*Finally makes it to the building for class*

"Woohoo, I made it! But oh shoot, where is my class again? It's only week two and this is a Tuesday and Thursday only class. Shoot shoot shoot I have 3 minutes to get there. Think think think. It's on the third floor and you make a right? No, a left. It's definitely a left. Now, where are the stairs? Ugh! I'm going to be so late. Oh, wait! Here it is! Here's the class! Hurry, take out the ear buds and find a seat."

*finally finds a seat*

"Time to sit here for another 90 minutes before I do that all again!"

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
