This Is What Makes Me

Because of my music choices, I've been told that I'm basic. In my head, I take that as "you have good taste in music". So hey, if my music choice is "basic" than that's fine with me. A lot of people also think that because I'm a Musical Theater Major that I don't know any music but ShowTunes, and although I do love a good jam sesh to Heathers: here's some of my favorite bands.

5 Seconds of Summer:

I personally think that this is a very underrated band. My sister and I went to their concert the last 2 years at PNC Bank Arts Center, and I can honestly say they're better live. Their music might be corny, but they're trying to keep up an image. I may have been one of the oldest concert, but there's nothing like a good boy band with some sexy accents.

Panic! at the Disco:

If you don't jam out to I Write Sins Not Tragedies every single time it comes on, I feel sorry for you. This band is seriously the best band on the planet right now. Their songs are very relatable and are just so catchy. Some of my favorite memories are memories of me screaming songs like "This is Gospel" on the beach with some pals. My love for Brandon Urie gives me life with his 3 octave range (which I didn't know was even possible).

Jonas Brothers:

To whoever thinks they can just cover Year 3000, (some British Band I don't even care to remember the name of), you will never outdo the JoBros. If you're a millennial, odds are you loved at least ONE of their hits- "A Little Bit Longer" and "Burning Up" being a couple of my favorites. Also their debut in Camp Rock was everything and more.

The Beatles:

I don't care how old you are, if you've never listened to the Beatles, you don't deserve to listen to modern music. They were iconic. I am a little biased because of my dad's book 100 Best Beatles Songs, but some of my favorites are "

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
