It happens to the best of us: your mom is cool. She’s somehow really good friends with your friends. She knows more about pop culture and the newest fashion than you do. It’s a struggle but we love them anyway.

1. Your friends like her more than you

Everyone always wants to hang out at your house in order to visit your mom.

2. She looks better than you in your clothes

Some people have this problem with their sister, but if you have a cool mom this can also be an issue. You’re similar sizes and raid each other’s closets but sometimes she just looks better in that dress you just bought.

3. She uses social media like a pro

Some moms are terribly clueless to new-age technology, others have it down and actually thrive. The amount of likes she gets rivals even you.

4. She knows all the lyrics to recent hit songs

Maybe she’s just in the car more often or just tries to keep up with the latest and greatest, but she can sing along to Ed Sheeran with the best of them.

5. She goes out more often than you do

Whether it’s wine with friends or date night, she seems to always have something going on. She’s not slowing down for anyone. Meanwhile, we binge watch Netflix like no other.

6. She knows how to dance

And not what we now consider dancing. She can shake her tail feathers and teach you to do it as well

7. She uses new “lingo” before you do

They probably don’t text with periods, but emojis instead. They use acronyms correctly, it’s a little bit of a miracle but also a little scary.

8. She has creative hobbies to occupy her time

Rather than just sit, watch tv and eat like me, my mom sews really amazing clothing pieces. Cool moms just have a plethora of talents that they have honed to a T.

9. She always looks flawless

If her hair is messy, it looks like it was meant to be. Her outfits are always on point. Take down some notes people, she looks great.

10. She gets all her advice from blogs

Where to travel? What shoes to buy? What it’s like to raise a teenager? Blogs are life and your mom knows it. There’s a blog for everything.
